Why, this it is when men are ruled by women #RichardIII This winter, our season in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse revolves around She Wolves and Shrews… Continuing onwards with our exploration of Shakespeare’s History plays with the Globe Ensemble, we turn to Henry VI and Richard III, featuring the most iconic she-wolf of them all – Margaret of Anjou. Alongside Shakespeare’s Histories, we also look at one of the most remarkable women in history, Elizabeth I, with Ella Hickson’s new play, Swive, exploring the relationship between beauty, sex and power during Elizabeth's reign.
