How does PayPal Optimizer work?
After downloading the PayPal Optimizer browser extension, these are the next steps to perform an evaluation of your website and checkout experience according to our best practices:
- Open the website that you want to run an evaluation on.
- Start the PayPal Optimizer browser extension.
- Navigate to the page using the prompts within the browser extension.
- Hit scan.
- The PayPal Optimizer browser extension will begin scanning the page and will display a score once the scan is complete.
- Go to the next page on the browser extension and navigate to the corresponding page on your website to scan that page.
- Once all the pages are scanned, PayPal Optimizer will display the final score along with any recommendations for improving your website's checkout experience.
Why can't I download or install PayPal Optimizer?
At this time, Chrome is currently the only browser that the PayPal Optimizer browser extension is compatible with. While you may be able to download the browser extension via another browser, we cannot guarantee that the browser extension will work if you are using a browser other than Chrome. Check back periodically as our goal is to have the browser extension work on all major browser types.
If you are using Chrome as your browser and are still having installation problems, it could be related to your workstation network privileges regarding the download and/or installation of software. Please check with your LAN Support desk for assistance.
Do I need to login to PayPal account to access or run a scan using PayPal Optimizer?
PayPal Optimizer does not require you to login to your PayPal account.
Is PayPal Optimizer available for evaluating all websites?
If PayPal's branded buttons are displayed on your website, PayPal Optimizer can evaluate it and make recommendations if appropriate.
Can PayPal Optimizer evaluate websites in any language?
No. For now, PayPal Optimizer can only evaluate English language websites. We are working on supporting more languages so please check back occasionally at www.paypal-optimizer.com to see if we've incorporated support for your language.
