Why are we here? We’re here because less than 10% of editors on Wikipedia are women
Wikipedia is the largest and most popular general reference work on the internet with more than 40 million articles in more than 250 different languages. The fact is when we don’t tell our stories or participate in the ways our history is preserved, it gets erased. Gaps in the coverage of knowledge about women, gender, feminism, and the arts on one of the most visited websites in the world is a big problem and we need your help to fix it.
How much could you get done in 5 years?
2018 will mark the fifth year of our campaign. It’s growing but we need your help. We’re looking for individuals and institutions interested in volunteering to host events where they live or work. No previous experience needed - we've got a kit with everything you need to organize an edit-a-thon.
Our edit-a-thons are held around the world
Every March since 2014, we've gathered in 500+ events around the world, to create and improve thousands of Wikipedia pages. Come and press that edit button with us.
