How does Printful work?

When an order is made on Shopify that contains a Printful product, it's automatically sent directly to us, where we print and ship it to your customer.

Integrating Printful with your Shopify store is easy:

1. Click the “Get App” button


2. Create an account at Printful or sign in with your existing account


3. Upload print files and sync your existing products that you would like to fulfill through us


4. Or, you can create completely new products in an instant with our product generator


5. Set up your billing and you're good to go!

From A to Z, we'll take care of you

We're more than a dropshipper. We're directly involved in every step of our fulfilment process and go the extra mile to help you get your store up and running. With Printful, you get:

1. Discounted samples: Order samples of your products for 20% off and free shipping worldwide! See exactly what your customers are getting.


2. White label service: We don't include any Printful branding when we ship your orders. You're the star of the show, and we make sure your brand is front and centre with our branding tools, like a free sticker of your logo on every order.


3. Design services: Whether you need a bit of inspiration, a complete overhaul, or a couple of tweaks to perfect your print files, our in-house designers can get your designs looking exactly the way you want.


4. Photography services: After we've printed your products, we can take professional-grade photographs and send them to you, so you can upload them straight to your store.


5. Free mockups: Create mockups of your products with our Mockup Generator, or use our existing mockup photos. We have the highest quality, most photorealistic mockups and we're constantly investing in adding more.

You decide your profit

We charge you the bare minimum to cover the cost of production and the product, which we buy directly from our suppliers at wholesale prices. Then you set your end price, and what's left is your profit. Your end price will depend on what you and your customers think is fair, but we recommend a minimum profit margin of 30%.

Say you're selling an American Apparel 2102 fine jersey short sleeve t-shirt. Your price is $23.00. Our price is $14.85. Subtract our price from yours, which gives you a profit of $8.15 (35%).

Printful has so many products to choose from, with hundreds of variations in size and color. Our canvases and posters range from big to small and we offer apparel in up to size 6XL for select brands.

1. T-shirts - we supply shirts from American Apparel, Alternative, Anvil, Augusta Sportswear, Bella + Canvas, Gildan, Hanes, LAT and Next Level


2. Sweatshirts - zip-up hoodies and pullovers available from American Apparel or Gildan


3. Leggings - made of polyester/spandex, printed all-over and sewn sweatshop-free in California


4. All-over shirts and tank tops - the printing technique that allows you to print your design all over the garment


5. Phone cases - available for the iPhone 5/5s/SE and the iPhone 6/6s and 6/6s Plus


6. Sublimated socks - ribbed, cushioned, and comfortable with graphics printed on the leg


7. Posters - sizes come in 8x10, 12x12, 12x16, 16x16, 12x18, 16x20, 18x24, 24x36, 44x44 (inches). Matte and Luster Photo paper options available


8. Framed Posters - sizes come in 8x10, 10x10, 12x12, 14x14, 12x16, 12x18, 16x20, 18x24, 24x36 (inches)


9. Canvas - hand-stretched, 20.5 mL-thick in sizes 12x12, 12x16, 16x16, 16x20, 18x24, 24x36 (inches)


10. Mugs - 12 and 15 oz. dishwasher and microwave-safe ceramic, white mugs. Made in the USA options available


11. Embroidery - hats, beanies, and snapbacks are available, and the Bayside brand is made in the USA


12. Totes - Liberty cotton canvas tote and an “all-over” tote that you can print from seam to seam


13. Throw Pillows - get them with or without stuffing on 18x18 polyester/cotton blend fabric

Made and printed in the USA

We print every order with love and care at our headquarters in Los Angeles – our fulfilment team personally oversees production and ensures the highest quality results. We also have the most competitive prices for American Apparel products out of all print-on-demand services in the USA.

All apparel is printed on Brother DTG printers and our inks are water based and eco-friendly. Posters and canvases are printed with Epson Stylus Pro 7900 using Epson UltraChrome HDR ink-jet technology. Posters are printed on either 10.3 ml thick Epson Enhanced Matte Paper or Epson Luster paper. See more on quality.

Stress-free shipping

Every order comes with tracking. When we mail an item, we automatically trigger the Shopify shipping notification with the tracking code, which is sent to your end customer so they know where their package is.

All Shopify “Unlimited” plan users can easily override Shopify's shipping settings and activate Printful's live rates instead – just check a box under your store's settings. This means you get cheaper rates with USPS First Class for standard shipping and with FedEx Express for expedited shipping, and international rates that are two to three times cheaper than standard international prices.

Another bonus: we cover the cost for all carrier-related mistakes. The carrier lost or damaged your shipment? It's on us.
