CAMP VIRGINIA JAYCEE

Camp Virginia Jaycee’s mission is to provide an outdoor education and recreation experience for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  The camp’s goals are to contribute to the mental and physical well-being and development of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through an organized program; to provide activities which develop a feeling of self-confidence through accomplishments; to promote the development of interpersonal relationships and social skills which help campers adjust happily to the world outside their immediate family; and to provide the opportunity for respite to family members of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

CAMP LETTS

Camp Letts is located on a beautiful inlet off the sparkling Chesapeake Bay, overlooking three islands and a 2,600-acre preserve.  Your Camp 4 Kids donation helps provide scholarships for homeless children to have a wonderful summer camp experience. The camp’s 219-acre peninsula has miles of wooded trails for hiking, horseback riding, and nature discovery; vast green fields for a variety of team sports; three tennis courts; and a crystal clear, Olympic-size swimming pool for instruction and fun.  The camp also boasts 40 sailboats and small watercraft.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF GREATER WASHINGTON

This summer the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington are offering twelve outstanding summer learning camps that will follow Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Brain Gain initiative to combat summer learning loss. Summer Brain Gain is comprised of one-week modules with fun, themed activities for elementary school, middle school and high school students. Each module takes a project-based learning approach: youth engage in a process of learning through discovery, creative expression, group work and a final project or production. As a result, kids develop higher-order thinking skills through the Summer Brain Gain modules while staying on track for the coming school develop higher-order thinking skills through the Summer Brain Gain modules while staying on track for the coming school year.

 

The camps are located all around the Metro area, with four in the District of Columbia, and one each in Prince George’s County, MD; Montgomery County, MD; and Alexandria, VA; two in Fairfax County, VA, and three in Prince William County, MD. BGCGW also offers a Teen Arts Program (TAP) and Jazz Camps.

100%.  There are no management fees and no other expenses paid for with your donation.
