We are always on the lookout for talented writers—from established authors to those just starting their writing careers. Get to know our various imprints and editorial lines to find out where you might fit into Harlequin's extensive publishing program. Here is a brief overview of the imprints for which Harlequin is actively acquiring. We accept unagented submissions for Harlequin Series (sometimes known as "Category Romance") books, as well as for Carina Press. If you think your writing fits another one of our imprints, you will need to submit through an agent.

UNAGENTED SUBMISSIONS

Harlequin Series Books (aka "Series Romance" or "Category Romance"). Each month, millions of women around the world enjoy the diverse reading experiences offered by Harlequin Series. With more than 85 titles published each month over a wide range of genres, this imprint truly offers readers a romance for every mood and taste. Harlequin welcomes unagented submissions to Harlequin Series. Before submitting, we encourage authors to become familiar with the various series lines—to know which line best suits your story. Carina Press is Harlequin's digital-first single-title imprint, publishing a wide range of romance and mystery–first in digital, with many releases also offered in audio and print. Carina Press's submission guidelines are available here.

Submissions to the following imprints must go through an agent.

On Writing Romance is the Harlequin.com community dedicated to helping aspiring writers on their path to publication. With writing challenges, group support, and access to Harlequin authors and editors, the community is a great resource for all aspiring and published writers.

Red Quill Writers Workshops give you the inside track on the art and business of writing and publishing romance and women's fiction—from some of the best in the business! Harlequin's interactive workshops are delivered by accomplished Harlequin editors and offer industry insights and practical know-how to give writers an edge on writing well and getting noticed. Topics range from creating a compelling pitch to developing an author brand to the advantages of traditional publishing over self-publishing…and so much more.
