This app is amazing so far! I got it to allow me to play Japanese games on my PS4. Works wonders, I just hold the camera up to the screen, take a picture, select the text and almost instantly it is translated. This is simply amazing. So many apps out there do something similar but not as efficiently, usually only translate one language and they cost somrthing to download. This is free and supports multiple languages. A must own for any gamer looking to expand their import library.

I use it everyday and works perfectly for me. As I've moved from Switzerland to the UK with my family I have to go to school there as well. It happens many times that I forget how a word is called in English and therefore it's perfect. Of course you can't expect it to translate whole sentences. Nobody can expect form a free app of this size and support for dozens of completely different languages to implement grammar scripts for all those languages.

Excellent translstor when it works.. but After Dec 2016 update it cannot even understand a small sentence in the source language English. It hears just a few words at the start but just refuses to hear the last few words and replaces them with words you didnt say. Very frustrating, as you cannot translate in complete phrases. Target language is Chinese simplified.

Improvement needed This app should offer Sanskrit translation as well. Sanskrit is the most structured language ever known. It's such a pity that this app does not provide translation in Sanskrit. Also translation from English to Hindi and other Indian languages is not appropriate many times. These issues need to be fixed. Find some good translators dude.

Worst translation to Telugu I downloaded it because I read there is speech to speech between Telugu and English. The app later said it's not available. That aside I tried the English to Telugu speech to text. The translations are worse. The sentences don't follow grammar or not even close to what you say. I was trying very simple sentences. Is this a disregard to the Telugu language?

Good but needs some improvements No doubt; google translator is the best on the globe.. However, this app requires a lot of work to deserve more than 3 stars.. translation accuracy is perfect for single words and short sentences while it becomes below average for longer strings.. Actually, it is annoying that you have to face too many issues regarding the offline dectionary tool.. i am obliged to remove my google account, restart device and to add the account again before i can download the offline packages of my desired languages..

The problem of the mandatory "did you mean" still exists. If I mean to say something else I will say something else. I don't need Google to point this out to me. In itself it would not be so bad if you ignore but you cannot you can only use the suggested translation. Did you mean?

I used to love this app. For some reason they have changed something and it is not picking up our conversation like it used to it changes some of my words gets the entire conversation wrong and it is extremely frustrating since my boyfriend is Mexican and I don't speak Spanish

Can't paste It was a brilliant app to use, but since I last updated, I can't paste any sentence or word I copied from another platform onto the Google translator app. It's annoying. I have to write it down somewhere else and then type into it. Please fix this then I'd rate you higher.

English to Tamil Problem in instant translation for English to Tamil. Tamil is third largest spoken language. Where is the offline package for Tamil? Even Tamil didn't have speech input, before working to other languages; please work on language who speakers are larger.

Very bad translation ever ... Its a worst translator app I've ever saw... it not makes any sence after translation. .. even i cannot get what has it translated in my mother language. .. nvr waste ur data and time on this app... it can translate only single words but not longer strings....

So great to translate Chinese characters! Not all the time it works instantly.. Sometimes-yes, sometimes -not... no matter good internet, wifi.. But if to uninstall it, then install.. it works and then haphazardly. But still I can make a photo and translate)))).

Add odia regional language I download this app and it's working awesome. I am impressed but one thing which disappoint me that all Indian language got her place in this app but odia language which is the 2nd manuscript language of India is not placed in this app. Other regional language are there but not Odia language is here. So, a honest request to Google from me is please add Odia language in this application.

It's a Small World After All... OMG! Great, I finally figured out what those little, incredibly life-like, simulated Asian youth, aminatronics in "It's A Small World" are signing...The same (fill in choice word) *poop* every other robot is singing. Thanks Google for helping me get to the center of the maze! And I didn't have to disfigure or torture any of the robotic hosts. (Westworld refrence). If you haven't seen the show, you must ask your self, why am I reading a review about this Google app, I know it's good. Watch it! Get Centered!

Google translate Works great! Quick responses, usually correct. There could be an update on some languages as there is usually more than one correct word for a specific thing but it doesn't say the context in which to use it in. Proper or improper.

Not accurate English to Russian and vice versa is horrific. Inaccurate, slow, no multiple options available and idioms are far cry. In essence, the translator is completely and utterly unusable for the majority of Slavic languages! There are better translators out there.

Hi To give this app 5stars, it requires from you guys some new adjustments. The Hebrew language has no voice speaker when I translate to this language it says "speech output isn't available for this language" and I really need to know the spilling of the words, I wanna speak like natives. Although it has a good features but still.

It's awesome. Maybe little off (.... mostly inaccurat) with the translation. But one more problem is... I wish I could voice translate on the go offline.... Please add it to the download packages in your next update and I'll change it to 5 stars, promise........... Update: Are you serious!?.. You took a step backwards Google! Now I can't even translate offline! It keeps crashing whenever I use it offline (and yes, I downloaded the packages). FIX IT!

Too much thing but.... Camera feature to translate is good enough but it should also translate Hindi to English by camera translate feature. I would like camera feature translate Hindi to English in next update and if not then I will say "bad experience to use this app".

Why there are no traditional chinese? Do you deleted it? Im very dissapointed. Do u think every chinese people just used simplified? No! Taiwan, HK, and macau they used traditional. Pls dont deleted it, just respect them. U very wrong if you just protected chinese simplified coz they not use ur search engine. They use baidu.

Missing the "enter" sign Great translator but unfortunately very rough. Is extremely annoying that if one wants to translate several diferent words or sentences there is impossible to divide them by pressing enter sign, which enter is missing from the tastature

Convinient tool, but I eager to have "suggest another translation" option in the mobile app . You have it in the Web version, and I used to correct wrong translations, but I use mobile app at the moment, so I have to type the right translation from other sources along with the word to store it in my phrasebook. So disappointing!

Need improvement App doesn't work properly. I installed Hindi language(offline) but instead when I try to do anything in offline mode then it's not able to translate in Hindi language and it shows check your SD card is inserted properly. Kindly look into this problem.

Depends on what language you use this app for. And, it helps that you know that language to avoid embarrassing situations. Have been hosed too many time with app. So, BE CAREFUL!!

Could be better Not as good as the computer version for some reason, doesn't show enough alternative translations and the one offered is often not what I need. It's frustrating because the PC version is becoming quite good.

We are nearly 2017 BUT!!! I am using this app a lot but it still far from perfect and we are almost 2017, the app capabilities really limited and when I read about Google AI and how they bushing the limit every were but not in this app!!! We need huge improvements in this app and Google team should but more effort to fix this problem and move to the next level. It's not acceptable at all Google!!!!

Not working properly in offline mode.If i am doing Hindi to English translation its just converting hindi words in English as it is without translation. Like how we type msg in vernacular language in English. Eg. तु कहा है becomes tu kaha hai... Help me out

The ' is not recognised from EN - IT Great app. Please just fix this issue. If I write there'd from English to Italian it translates the red = il rosso which is totally wrong. Thanks
