The Interpolate extension for Adobe® Photoshop® CS6 provides two new filters based on smoothly blending between colors.
The first filter, "Interpolate," fills the transparent areas of the current layer with a smooth mix of the colors in the opaque areas.
The second filter, "Match Edges," changes the colors at the edges of the current layer to match those of the layer below it, and smoothly distributes this change through the layer.

Follow these steps to get started with the Interpolate extension for Photoshop CS6:
- If you do not have Photoshop CS6 installed, download the free trial
- Download the Interpolate extension for Photoshop CS6
- Double-click the EXE file or install it manually using the Adobe Extension Manager.
- Select "Interpolate" or "Match Edges" from the Filter menu.

- How do I use Interpolate?
- Create a transparent layer. Paint several strokes of different colors into that layer. Select Filters > Interpolate to fill the transparent area of the layer with a smooth mix of the stroke colors.
- How do I use Match Edges?
- Place foreground content you'd like to alter in one layer, and the background you'd like to match in the layer directly below it. Select the foreground layer and invoke Filters > Match Edges. The foreground content's edges should now match the background layer.
- Will Interpolate work with versions of Photoshop older than CS6?
- Unfortunately, no. However a free trial of Photoshop CS6 is available.
