6:25 AM ETAll eyes are on the Bank of England on Thursday, as the central bank decides whether to slash interesting rates for the first time in seven years. Pressure has been piling on the policymakers to launch aggressive easing measures after the first post-Brexit data released in recent weeks pointed to a sharp downturn in the economy.

- Choppy pound action
With only half an hour until the rate decision, the pound is bouncing around. Sterling is buying $1.3332, up from an intraday low of $1.3280 and up from $1.3325 late Wednesday in New York.
Analysts are saying short positions in the pound are at a record high, setting the currency up for a major rebound if the Bank of England disappoints later today.
