The Guardian of independent journalism!! I think you guys never deserved more your name than nowadays. Real journalists, no sensationalism, populism or manipulation of truth. Everyone should check the Guardian daily and read the articles. But hey that's a dream :) the app is is one of the best too and notifications perfectly chosen. Amazing work guys I am proud to be a Guardian member

GREAT WRITING AND INTERESTING ARTICLES The US edition is up to and surpasses the quality of the best papers in the United States. I have never had trouble with the app crashing as I do with other well known newspapers. I'm amazed at the U.S. coverage, excellent world coverage and quality journalism. Great stories everyday. I highly recommend the Guardian and we should all think about becoming members . Someone has to pay for this great paper that comes to us daily and it would be a shame to lose it. Great job Guardian. Keep it up.

Excellent source of World News American Media does not report on Global News that impacts America. Rarely do they report on the Wars that America has started or Global News that may impact their economy. Nothing on the dreaded TPP and very little on Brexit. I must turn to The Guardian to find such news, and I am very grateful that they are always on top of things worldwide. Thank you.

One of my most-used apps.... Recommended - I read far more articles now I have the app. When it comes to newspapers (tho not books), I vastly prefer the convenience of e-reading! The Guardian app is easy to use, reliable and customisable. Worth a go if you haven't already tried it!

Independent news-source, phone-friendly app The developers are doing an excellent job of re-imagining the newspaper for smartphone. Clarity of organisation and speed of access really stand out. If only e-books were being produced with the same level of craft and sympathy! (E-readers seem stuck in a clunky page-based mindset, and good newspaper apps like The Guardian would actually adapt really well to book-publishing.)

Drifting to the right but still credible(is) Well designed news app, reliable content, reasonable editorial balance. I prefer the Independent as a newspaper but the Guardian app is much more user focussed. update May 2015 ; still no proof readers at the The Gruniard though, judging by the weird predictive spellchecker stuff that gets through .

Hi Russell. Sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue, this sounds like a bug as a few others have also noted it. In order to help us fix this, please contact [email protected] with the details of what you're seeing and we will investigate this further. Thanks Obvious bias I installed the app and after three months of reading anti Trump and pro Hillary and other biased reports, I am done. Deleting this waste of my time. For what it is worth, I don't like either candidate but the reporting is obviously one sided.
First of only two global news feeds I rely on every day. Best live reporting by ever-changing range of thoroughly knowledgable reporters/editors without corporate bias. Trusted, go-to news outlet when real news breaks. Guardian
Great news site. Nice interface. Just turn off alerts Love the writing of the Guardian. The user interface of the mobile app is great too. Only complaint was the number of headline updates that would ping my phone throughout the day. Once you turn those off its all good
Really angry - this is still an issue! Increasingly angry about this... Still no granular control of notifications and you've just spoiled another sporting event for me and everyone else not watching live. Why can't I have notifications about news events, but turn off all sports notifications? Not cool at all. UPDATE: You still can't control this. Am I the only one thinks this is absurd?
Keeps stopping When you see the words Unfortunately The Guardian App has stopped, once is unfortunate but 5 times a week is unacceptable. News is good when you can read it. The later version seems to have stopped the crashes but it is still early days
Gets worse with each update Since the latest update the app won't even load, it just freezes on loading. It's been getting progressively worse with each update, bugs and crashes. Very disappointed, sort it out please.
Samsung S6 works great! Running Android Marshmallow ! Outstanding news app ! As usual, one of the best sources for news world wide. Timely pushed notifications as well. Wish there were fewer updates driven by Google's Android R&D. One only hopes that these all pertain to cyber security !
Great app Fantastic app, I check it first thing every morning. The UI is simple, clean and straightforward. Contents like video and audio play smoothly on Android. Very stable as I haven't had any crashes yet.
Democrat Party viewpoint only Surprised how bias the writers are on this app. Its a shame. The app has good features and its easy to use. But they need to hire writers that are not so one-sided on every political article. Must be funded by the Democrat Party.
Very Happy This is a nice app which brings the classic guardian content I want in an easy to navigate format. There could be little tweeks made to the layout hence 4 not 5 stars but everything is there. Jolly good.
Cutting edge stuff The investigative element of The Guardian is second to none... and it's usually stuff the world no longer cares about that is brought to your attention, such as poaching in South Africa. Well done to you!!
Would love to give it 5, but ... ... too much stupid, opinion which should have no place on a "newspaper" or its app. Get rid of that, and I'll change the rating, and might even consider becoming a paid supporter. Also, why does it have to open Chrome first when I click on a link in my daily mail?
Left I don't mind newspapers pushing their agenda they all do it all media organizations do it but to hide behind a guise of neutrality and then continue to not only push the agenda but also help fuel the new racism in America. It's the left's liberal globalist agenda and it's a little ridiculous. Like I said though you keep the bias in mind and they are pretty good Global News site
Great news app! Gives up to the minute news of what it's happening in the world. Easy to use. The Guardian's unique slant and commentary are probably the best there is. Superb layout, excellent journalism and fantastic writers. Think about becoming a Guardian member to keep this app going.
Best newspaper, good app Intuitive, nice that I can save articles for future reading. Only the app crashes sometimes while running in the background. Possibly something going wrong with breaking news notifications
Great app, well set up and features excellent content. Best newspaper in print or online. Great news, insightful opinion and has some excellent recipes in the food section. Alerts are annoying but are easy to switch off. Thank you Guardian.
Best for news! Can't beat the breadth of coverage, multimedia and commentary. I listen to NPR all day and still find plenty to learn about via The Guardian app.
Treasure it If you are politically left leaning there's only one sensible place left to go. Most national newspapers are not only right wing but are in large part frighteningly banal. My one problem with the Guardian is that it sometimes takes up too much of my morning. But without Polly Toynbee or Zoe Williams the day would be incomplete. Great newspaper. And vital, too.
Used to have news Seems like the new biased semi-tabloid media. Sometimes unbiased journalism, sometimes Vagina Dispatches...
Gets better and better This is a good example of how an app should be devloped. All issues I had with this app have been fixed. I will give credit to the guardian for listening to the issues people have had and the frequent updates that are making the app better.
Brilliant Great editorial. What more can I say. They dig down to the heart of the story and tell it warts and all. The caring man's newspaper. Get it you won't be disappointed.
Always really dependable. My favourite app for news, with unbiased reporting, and offers updates on breaking stories so you're always up to date with world events.
Simply the best news app I was looking for a French language news app but none of them matches the Guardian so, even if I am not particularly interested in UK news, I find it a great source of information on world events and culture. I especially like the customisable widgets.
Streamlined interface, best news Thanks for a great app and great newspaper- sophisticated yet always fighting viciously for the little people and the oppressed. Very refreshing articles in an age of tabloidism.
Still like it A bit slow when not on wi-fi but the content is great.
New to the ap, love the diversity. A bit confused by Polly T's articles, but it does make me smile. Does she actually get paid for what she writes?
Ruined homepage customisation. Only realised after a wipe and reinstall that the homage customisation has been ruined. There's only a tiny number of category options available meaning I can no longer get the news I want on my home page. The app is no good to me now.
The best journalism as always. Configurable, flexible app allowing access to great journalism. The one issue is that embedded links do not work, have to use browser access if I want to follow links.

We're very sorry about the trouble you've been having with the app. Please contact [email protected] and we'll do our best to help you out. Quality Journalism There aren't many places on the net where you can find consistently high quality writing. This is one of them.
Best of UK Newspaper apps Although I don't always agree with their political line, this is the best if the UK Newspaper apps as it has the full paper in app form, plus some thought provoking articles.
Fabulous- different - perspective! News from around the globe brought to me by a UK media! Fact driven, un biased news that arrives at it is happening. Love it!!
Ex Times Reader Switched to The Guardian from The Times a few months ago and haven't looked back. App is a joy to use and content is very high quality.
Exceptional essential reading A beacon of social democratic liberal values in an increasingly right wing pseudo neo-liberal world. News is sacred keep the faith.
Personalisation could be better It's hard to keep track of topics or contributors. (Buried several clicks deep in profile menu). And Alerts don't work.

What's New
There's not too many user-facing changes in this release, but as always we're making improvements to the running of the app and trying to provide a great experience. Plenty of bugs have been squashed, making sure to get rid of some more minor crashes we'd noticed. We were previously showing empty containers on personalised homepages, which we've resolved alongside some issues we had regarding offline comments.
