Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating Eid al-Fitr tomorrow & marking the end of a month of long summer fasts. We fasted out of duty & religious observance, but when we’re with family tomorrow spare a thought for those who fasted out of circumstance from war, poverty & famine.

Today Glasgow says farewell to one if its most famous public servants. Pat Lally served our city with the true spirit of Glasgow running through him. With the support of the city’s MPs, I submitted this motion to Parliament remembering his legacy.

It’s time to dump this failed policy it’s a disaster for my constituents, for many it has plunged them into deeper poverty. The Tory on this morning has no idea of the terrible impact of this disgraceful policy.

I fully support in their statement - the escalation of violence in Yemen will only put more people at risk. The UK Government must push for a ceasefire.
