The speed of ongoing Linux innovation is important to your business, and access to patches for urgent security vulnerabilities and technical support are critical. Rather than wait until the general support period ends to ensure you have access to the latest features and fixes for your Linux operating system, take the proactive approach.
With Long Term Service Pack Support (LTSS) from SUSE, you can align your support needs with your data center deployment plans. It gives you up to 5 years support on a service pack and 13 years on a major release. This lets you plan ahead for upgrades path at your own pace, rather than react to the end of support before your operations are ready.
Benefits of Long Term Service Pack SupportLong Term Service Pack Support (LTSS) is an extended support program that offers support and service beyond the general support period. It allows you to maintain your current operating-system version as long as possible, preserving both the stability and security of your data center, as you transition from one service-pack version to the next. With Long Term Service Pack Support you can receive three years of extended support, in addition to the standard ten years of support for each major version of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, for a total of 13 years.
Long Term Service Pack Support includes:
Long Term Service Pack Support does not include any software enhancement requests or hardware enablement.
We generally release service packs every 12 to 18 months and support previous service packs for 6 months after the release of the new service pack. Long Term Service Pack Support can extend support an additional 12-36 months in 12-month increments.
Most of our core server platform products have a 10-year lifecycle. If you need more than that, Long Term Service Pack provides 3 years of extended support, during which time you'll continue receiving security and maintenance patches as well as technical support.
Your infrastructure should only be updated when necessary, and on a schedule that works for your data center. During the LTSS period, SUSE will deliver only the security patches for critical vulnerabilities, and maintenance patches for critical non-security issues.
