Almost Perfect BBM has evolved to the point that it doesn't resemble its simple, initial form. File transfers, voice and video calling, delivered and read notifications are among the modern touches that are very useful and slick. The "Channels" feature is a social site unto itself with something for every interest. The limitations are mainly the ease of adding a contact, video and voice chat not being fully cross platform and the lack of a desktop counterpart. Still, BBM keeps getting better!

Get rid of connected notification, other IMs don't have that, I feel like I have advertising in my notification tray. Files sent should have the ability to be forwarded without uploading the file to the server again. Needs a web client . All in all a good app, the original smartphone IM! Keep up the progress. Sticker section could use a search function as well as grouping by pricing etc.

Everything needed and MORE BBM gives you so much more than a regular messaging App. With now free awesome features nothing else compares to it. If you don't have it yet you're missing out. The only thing needed now is video messaging with users that dont have the BlackBerry operating system like PRIV owners...

You're doing much better than in your early days on android. Smaller memory footprint, more stable, less bugs, faster. Still not my favorite messenger app, but you're close to second. Please get rid of the tray icon, it's the only thing that keeps me from giving you 5 stars for all your effort. Keep improving!

At least for the memories ♥ It is hard to let go of the BBM now. I have lived with BBM since forever. Do i need it? BIG NO but i still use it every single day. Reading other reviews yes i think they're somehow right but BBM still is not bad. It is VERY GOOD actually. If you're a perfectionist then yeah go to what's up or telegram or whatever for security or how much time the app needs to open. Those things don't and shouldn't effect you. Like really!? half a second faster means you rate this 2 stars!!! Pfft people

Awesome After years of BBOS, could not see me using any other communications device. Then the Priv came out. Now BBM is in almost every OS. Everyone has the opportunity to use the very best solution with a ton of free options that used to be a subscription only. Keep up the great work! :D

BBM is doing a great job Lot and lots of new staff that has been launched for the new BBM which are enjoyable the BBM voice call and BBM video call.... Forced to use for work No advantage to using this over other chat clients that are WAY more popular, more secure, and just plain better. Have to regularly deal with spam (from external parties AND even BBM itself). No way to tell it to block ALL invites. Invites can happen any time, even middle of night. I think this app only exists to satisfy old IT staff still stuck in the Blackberry glory days. Blackberry has willingly provided BBM communications to RCMP, so it's hard to trust the "secure" claim. Just use something else!

So clunky I only use it because my football group uses it. WhatsApp us way way better. This app is poorly designed and a battery killer. It's also super annoying how you get 5 invites a week by people who don't speak the same language as you.

Losing faith........ I've used BBM for years. I'm getting ready to delete it. Too many adds. Too many Lines added into my contacts. Too many invites for apps. Give us a setting to shut all this stuff off ! You have made a great app, mediocre. Update.. 11/04/16. Even worse. If not for my work. This app would be gone. Still works well, just too many adds, unsolicited invites, and just plain annoying and bothersome nothings! I wish it was just BBM like before

Annoying sponsors. I've been using bbm since the very early versions on BlackBerry phones. This is my first Android phone using bbm and i find that the sponsors are annoying! They pop up and place themselves right at the point where you're interacting with the app, forcing you to interact with them instead! This needs to be removed, people are entitled to go about their daily online interactions without having sponsors shoving their product in peoples faces!!

Request -reverified security because third party double BBM stole our data to add some people we don't know. -BBM miror to desktop (like WA, Line, Telegram). -Dark Theme. -Multiple account, so we dont need use third party double BBM app. -Video Converter really worst, give us option to send original video. -Give us option to save anything in SD card (photo, profil, picture from chanel etc). -Cover profile and Gif Pic Profile.

Pretty darn good They've expanded all the original strong points of BBM to include all the features (voice, video) you need. There's even timed messages for all you sexters. The only thing I don't like is getting notifications about sockets and other things I don't care about.

Tired of getting constant spam requests from random people and games. Often no notification light when a message is received, and messages often get delayed being received hours after sending them. This app has gotten worse, not better.

Can't post to Channels directly on Priv This is just dumb. Can't post directly to my channel on a Priv. I've been waiting and waiting for the to be fixed. BBRY you really are pushing us all out. I've been BB and only BB since my first smart phone. I now find myself looking else where. Why support you if you don't support US!!!!! After all the updates still can't post directly to Channels. BOOOOOOO

Constantly spammed by bots Bots will send you upwards of 5 to 10 generated chat requests and invites. To the point where you'll feel obligated to turn notifications off; thereby rendering the app useless.. c'mon blackberry. Get it together. If I were that bad at my job, I'd be fired.

I liked BBM when it looked more professional Go back to being a simple, more business oriented messaging app. No stupid stickers. Almost seems more like bloatware these days. Always a delay when sending and receiving messages unlike Kik (which I don't expect to be used for professionals).

Full of ads So many ads, so disturbing. The ads comes so frequently and make some missed tap while scroll or tap a chat, what a shame! It's pretty cool if BBM doesn't have any ads that disturb their user. Subscriptions for ads free isn't the best way, because some people must pay twice, first for its mobile data package (it is general, and for connecting to BlackBerry services such as BlackBerry coverage) and second, pay for a subscription. It was not effective, and more made a benefit for BlackBerry, so it isn't fair

After the upgrade notices that go so long Notice that were not automatically accepted. So often must first open the notification then the fuel can enter. Though the position of the active mobile phone and a good signal. So often late may notice BBM 😬😬😬...Please fix it!!!

Still love it! Great way to converse with those outside my home country and love the Delivered & Read feature. Group BBMs are great too! Now if only the Delivered and Read function worked there too... Also, hate that there is no way to transfer chats when you upgrade your phone.

Same old BBM I've used it for years on several BlackBerry devices, and it feels very familiar on Android. After a few months with my new BlackBerry Android (Priv), I can say BBM is even better than I remember. There are lots of social media choices, but BBM is still among the best.

Changes need to be made. But it's an okay app The app is good for it's its sole purpose but major changes need to be made. First of all there should be a way to turn off these bloody advertisements from sponsors, no-one wants them. Secondly, for me personally, I think there should be a way to turn off BBM broadcast messages without having to turn off your notifications for the app just to escape them. Finally, again another one for me, the app sometimes lags so much to the point that I cannot do anything on my phone for a good 5 minutes.

Use something else Despite all privacy setting at max, I get 2-3 spam invites a day in Filipino. The paid suggested invites is annoying and it's a data pig. I'd rather stick with whatsapp given they now have end to end security.

Unskilled programmers/poor servers. BBM either needs to hire better programmers or upgrade their servers. The app's performance is poor compared to the likes of whatsapp, Facebook, etc. It is unstable, the feeds keep flickering making you click wrong feeds, slow while scrolling up and down the feeds, it struggles with network signal, sending and receiving large files is hardly ever successful. Etc...

Stupid update Please.. Be aware... U give and additional content, video, from ads ??? And the video is not filtered, it has and adult content... Please... BBM is using by child too... Please... Be aware of this... Can u change this, or at last, disable it... Only for age 18 or whatever my son is using this BBM, and I am really annoying with ur update....

I hate the Channels BBM was my message service of choice, loved it in fact. Until these ridiculous channels were added, they are annoying to say the least. I have now stopped using BBM because of this "feature"

Awesome - Best Instant Messaging BBM works great. Voice calls very clear, now video calls are cross platform. Cool free stickers too. Loved that you can now recall messages from your account and even the recipients account (To Keep Things PRIVATE)

Works but BBM Channels are annoying So now BBM works fine, but the ads/BBM Channels are super annoying. My BBM notification goes off whenever there's a new channel added (which is AT LEAST once a day).

Eh... 2016 So I have been with this app for a long time. But its becoming quite a nuisance with the channels. Are the main ones popping up... sometimes it pops to often and my messages don't come through. But pretty sure it will get fixed.

ADS now in chat section Please remove the Ads in the chat section. I understand that's it is a free app and Ads are included but they used to be located in the main feed which is fine. But now putting them in my chat section is unacceptable especially when I receive at least 20 a day. No wonder Blackberry as a company has such a small user base with all the stupid decisions they have made throughout the years.
