Love Alexa! She helps me very well. I like that she is very helpful but us lacking information. I have to ask Google on my phone for that part. The app is nicely build but when the cards start stacking up then having to remove them starts getting annoying. Needs a "remove all" tab. Love the shopping list. I hope more companies like qvc, hsn, and Wal-Mart start making skills to order stuff.

The original Alexa app was awesome. You could do everything on it, and it worked well. Then, a few iterations ago, the app had a massive overhaul, and it SUCKS! The app freezes constantly, especially when trying to engage the alarms feature; you can no longer search for music through the app, itself, so functionality is lost; etc. Truly, the Alexa app is truly, truly terrible. If you are trying to decide between Google Home and Alexa, I might recommend Google Home now... and this is coming from someone who has invested in two Alexa speakers and loves (or, loved) them.

Horrible that this app automatically adds contacts for its new messaging feature without my approval!! Cannot remove them! - latest version only allows blocking them. So, I have to block contacts I don't even want in the list. This needs to allow selecting/deleting contacts (like a whitelist). Also should have an option to delete all cards at once without having to clean all the history.

Horrible. Slowest app ever. Asked to look at my shopping list which has 3 items on it. 2 FULL minutes later it was still processing. Rebooted phone. Same problem. Watched movie on phone, no issues-obviously not the phone or my network.

I have a couple Echo devices around the house and love them for various uses, especially home automation. You need this app to configure those echo devices. However, Amazon in the past few iterations has added "Alexa Calling" to the app and the echoes and they rope you into activating it. Not only is it a manipulative and sleazy way to get people to "opt-in" (by making it very difficult to avoid opting in and still using the product), it also doesn't let you turn the feature off, you HAVE TO CALL AMAZON CUSTOMER SUPPORT to disable a very invasive unwanted and nearly useless feature. Super sleazy on Amazon's part. Especially for an app with so many rampant privacy issues.

Lights reset colors everytime with hue, why have colored lights if it just going to be yellow by default. It needs an advanced mode, with less instruction and better listening or better stop commands. Even the alarm is impossible to stop with out yelling at it from 3 feet.

Now on the 5th update since calls/messaging supposedly available, and still no Conversation menu item in the app. Samsung Tab E tablet, new, stock, 6.0.1. Four emails, followed all recommendations, no solution forthcoming. Sucks. Update: Seems WiFi only devices are not supported. I have a cell, just not 'smart' device. Two high-end tablets, WiFi only. No one at Amazon thought to pass this along? Epic.
Playing music through the app use to be easy and good. After this upgrade, it is truly terrible. I can't figure how to just find and artist and play that genre of music. Plus, the app in the music section looks primitive like a 5 year old made it. WTH.
Decent device, terrible app. Latest version will no longer locate my echo spontaneously and setup fails with a white blank screen and no error message. This is horrible software development.
Will not install. Only get error 505. App will install on my old S4 without issue. Seems to be something with Marshmallow. Please fix this app or let everyone know how to adjust their phone to allow install.
Wtf!!! I've just bought this and the app can't even find the echo device??? Help needed but judging by some of the comments i may as well send it back for a refund... pissed off... i doubt Amazon will respond either... ridiculous.. the only dots i see are in the app trying to find the f-ing device.. sending it back.. there's a waste a 30 mins of my life i wint get back 😠
After the newest update alexa is going back, now you must have my contacts or the app doesn't work. What a bunch of b.s. going to try the Google home I guess. Edit: after allowing my contacts app still broken. Many complaints way to go amazon....
Keep crashing at "Loading Conversation" screen! Unusable! Please fix asap! I am on Nougat! latest update on 6/13 didn't fix the issue, unbelievable!
We got an amozon echo for Christmas and now we have to return it because the app won't even load!! It just sits there buffering and buffering I know for a fact it's not my phone's or my networks fault, we are just going to return it and get the equivalent Google home. DO NOT GET ECHO, GO WITH GOOGLE HOME
Since the update, I have not been able to link any of my music accounts. App says app support unavailable... Please fix this, we pay for the services expecting it to work smoothly.
Previous app was much better. Trying to set the alarm on this one sucks. It either takes a long time to set or the app just freezes up. Never had an issue with the previous version.
Biggest problem is they tour you can now call and message using Alexa but only if they also have Alexa. Being able to make calls and use as a Bluetooth speaker should be already a capability.
Since the last update, app crashes on startup on Android 5.1. Needs fixed asap, unacceptable. Edit: there have been multiple updates, still force closes every time app is opened. Awful QA
Have been trying to get the app to work on my Google pixel XL with no luck. Apparently the only thing I can do is send a message to another Alexa user
I've been trying to connect my echo dot to my new WiFi connection for days but when I get to "setup", I am left with nothing but a blank white screen. No loading dots, no indication as to how long or if the white screen will ever produce the "setup" screen. Very mysterious, slightly coy...but mostly super annoying tbh.
Just about every time I ask alexa something she can't NEVER answer it! And the phone stuff don't work! She say she can't find the person name but she say it just like it is in my contacts! I got too call her name like three times before she say how can I help you! I'm going to try that Google one because this is crazy for real!
Version update killed app on ASUS zoom. Over a month has gone by and still no fix. Update 6/14 still not fixed...
Man when i got this app it was going like a turd in the punch bowl! But then I connected to my echo for and everything was amazing!!!😃
It's finally working and I haven't used it enough yet to give it a better rating so we will see. I don't like that I have to upgrade to spotify premium to use spotify on this but other than that it's alright so far.
I'm in love with Alexa, but the app needs a bunch of little fixes. It gets the job done. Ability to do macros with Alexa would be heaven. Macrodroid intergration would be fantastic!
Since the last few updates it constantly freezes. Can turn alarms on and off without it freezing and crashing when you pick and alarm time.
It just quit working... tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. Still doesn't work. In fact my Alexa won't connect to my computer anymore by Bluetooth.
It took me 5 times to get it passed the loading dots to setup my echo dot. Now working great
Literally non-functional. Doesn't work at all. Just got the Echo as a gift but the app won't start up. I guess I'll have to return the Echo and go with Google's equivalent.
Loved this until a few updates ago, when it stopped running on my tablet. Fix it, and I would have several useful devices again instead of several bloody expensive paperweights.
It was nice when it worked, but now when I open it I am greeted with a never ending loading screen
App doesn't want to load any other section besides the conversation page. If I click anything else it is stuck on the loading page, was good when it actually worked.
This is way too slow ... Get ride of conversation junk .... Let users configue the default screen ... Most disapointung Amazon app I've ever used

The app wont work on android 7.0 on samsung s7 active. Continuous load screen. Have tried restarting, uninstalling, updating android webview... no dice... please amazon update your app.
