My new phone all of a sudden doesn't wanna work properly. I'm trying to download a Google archieve I requested on my Gmail. I use es file explorer to decompress zip files and pretty much everything. So I go and open the file and gives me a null notification and drags me to git hub. I know my gf had something to do wit it because she uses my phone n I like to go back and trace her history to see what's she up to.

The recent deprecation of the Realtime API is a huge disappointment to all of us who depend on genuine OT-based collaboration and conflict resolution. It is churlish to suggest that Firestore is a viable alternative for anyone who had a genuine reason to use the realtime API.

I understand that business decisions that negatively impact once-loyal developers occasionally have to be made, though Google's reputation is among the worst on this score - vis their 'beta-forever', and 'version 1.1, what's that?'.

Many businesses including mine depend on a yearly subscription. Google has put us in the position of having to make serious decisions within precisely 13 days. Quit? Develop alternatives? Stop selling subscriptions? etc etc.

This much notice, this decision, everything about it (including that there will of course be no retirement for Google Docs, Sheets etc, which work on a similar or identical engine) leaves a taste in the mouth associated with the word 'Google' that will not quickly go away.

Apologies for using this "Community" for this complaint. Were there a better forum for this I'd be using it, but protecting itself from any genuine, productive developer feedback and discussion is now in Google's DNA.

Jake.
