Buggy This used to work on and off on my android 6 tablet but now I can't open it at all. I get the "unfortunately, Skype has stopped working" message when I tried to open it. Tried reinstalling, clearing cache, updating permissions. Nothing works. How is it that other small third party messaging apps work just fine but one from a multi billion dollar company doesn't?

Everything was good until.... After I updated the app Skype will not let me log in it says it's a network error but I have no problems with my Wi-Fi or my mobile data. It did the same thing on my desktop but I cleared everything out and tried to login again and it worked. But nothing I've done is working to get Skype to let me login on my phone.

DoA The new update is a disaster. Used to be ok but latest update destroyed the app again. Now it goes offline when minimised. So now it is basically useless because you don't get any incoming calls. Of course this is typical for Skype. The forced updates are full of bugs. It was working fine. Why do an update that breaks it? Galaxy S7.

Aggressive password protection I cannot stand the aggressive password protection policy. I have had to change my password so many times it is about ridiculous. If it was set up so that I could get my password back to me rather than having to change it every time I can't remember where I put a capital or what symbol I used that might make it better. However forcing me to completely change my password every time only puts me back to square one. The product itself is ok but let's start thinking password recovery and not password change

What have you done?? I see I'm not the only one who can't log back in. And keeps showing me as not connected, even though I am online when I put Skype in background. I realised it is still showing me as being online to my contacts. But no longer able to even log in now?. I hope you fix ir soon.

Multiple devices are no longer supported If you have Skype on several platforms then embrace your self for bs. If you pick up on android while PC instance of skype keeps ringing in the background... The be prepared to be disconnected as soon as the pc ring stops it will also drop your current active android call.

Bug fix please! It was working perfect!! Then out of nowhere Status shows off as "Not Connected" calls don't come in as the should same with messages!! Fix ASAP... I need this to work... I have family and friends to communicate with especially with hurricane Mathew here!-_-
The freezing is very annoying! My main pet peeve is that it freezes and/or drops my video calling especially when I call in highly developed European countries. Also the voice is extremely low and we can't hear each other, also I miss calls because I can't hear Skype ringing. Please help us by fixing our problems and you'll get your 5 stars and a better review.
Ones upon a time! ***I hate the Skype indeed*** Before than Microsoft involved to Skype our life was perfect. But now only stress. Nothing surprise actually, it is normal where is an American there is only problem. Americans are the dumbest in the world. So dead for Americans to save the human being.
"Check your mobile Network" K yeah I checked my mobile network it's up and running, working fine, I'm connected to working wifi. Now I can't login to my Skype account and I have people I must talk to I would prefer my favorite video calling app to work again thanks
Something went very wrong My friend cannot hear my sound. It get disconnected from time-to-time after one or two minutes into Skyping. Video icon completely gone from my screen (Ipad). Very bad after update.
App doesn't seem to work anymore. With the most recent update, my contact list disappeared. Tried signing out and then back in to fix it, and found I can no longer sign in to Skype on my phone at all- I just get an error message. Looks like I won't be using Skype.
Good but not without issues This is an (overly) slimmed down version of desktop Skype, without the ability to change your availability to go on 'away' (UPDATE: you can now go on 'do not disturb' so +1 star for that). Two issues though: when plugging in a headset, Skype still insists on using my tablet's mic and speaker when calling, and if a message was sent/received less than 5 mins ago, it will be timestamped as 'just now', which is stupid
No lesson learnt from history. There are numerous examples where companies dashed from Sky to ground with in no time. Skype adapted very rigid beaurcratic approach as of changes are concerned in this fast paced world. For years there are some issues which you damn care to address. First limited and illogical choice of monthly subscription. We can pray to god good sense prevail. Otherwise you may Nokia of tomorrow. Now the responsibility lies with google Duo to kills skype attitude.
Only one complaint. When app is not open/launched, the ongoing status thing says that I'm not connected to Skype even though all I do is either switch to another app or go to my home screen. Any way to fix this?
Works to a point I have had issues with not receiving messages which can harm you on many cases. It used to work just fine but this has damaged my liking of it. (i have recently changed phones and it works perfectly fine)
What the heck happened? Can't log into it anymore. Keeps saying unable to connect. Changed password, Uninstalled reinstalled, no help. Android phone or even on windows cpu app. Just started today, get this fixed guys. Use the chat feature for work purposes. Only way I can use it now, is using it directly on the web not an app.
Stopped working at all Can't sign in today. It brings a pop up "unable to connect". I have even deleted and dounloaded. Well, it used to work normal before Microsoft put its hands on it. Stupid app.
Every time I close the app it says im disconnected and it takes hours for it to refresh my new messages. Very poor call quality too. I use to love Skype but the devs havent been keeping good maintenance apparently.
Disconnects me from every call I get disconnected from every call after about 40 seconds. I've tried different WiFi connections and different devices, always the same outcome. Cannot use this as a stable source of hosting group chats. The desktop version has no issues.
Some bug has got entry.. Previously everything was good but now it's not so. When I click on emoticon icon keyboard appears and hides them every time. This happens in my other device as well.
Goes Offline constantly This app is now only useful for sending messages and making calls but utterly useless for being on the receiving end because it goes offline if it's running in the background so you receive nothing. I've not seen a settings option to "go offline - never" either so it's just a ridiculous bug.
Great but.. It logs me out almost every time I close it and recently I haven't been able to sign in at all. It says my network could be the problem but I'm signed into wifi so I don't know what's wrong.
Microsoft you messed up! It keeps diconnecting as soon as i have it run in background just like others . But judging from your constant lack of response to others with the same or any issues at all and your history of poor customer service relations you obviously dont care. So you could just sit back and enjoy your fancy lives instead of taking care of the concerns of the pillars of your paychecks or acknowledge us.
Calls Keep Dropping Now I can't even sign in to skype because of the new update. I keep getting an error message saying "check your mobile network" and mine is perfectly fine so fix this NOW
STILL CRASHES -UPDATE FIXES NOTHING How about ensuring that basic functions are working before adding garbage like emojis for 8 year olds. The ongoing status notification shows up in the status bar completely randomly so you never know if it is running or not. Skype crashes in the background and has been doing so for quite a while. Skype is completely unusable aa a communications service because you can't rely on it to keep working so you can receive calls.
PIECE OF SH MOBILE APP Can someone fix this stupid mobile app so we can use as we use the desktop version. I have unlimited data and this app keep showing NO INTERNET CONNECTION?
Stupid update Since updating Skype on my phone if keeps signing me out or having me appear offline when I'm not. It only happens when I exit the app. It was working perfectly before. It'd be nice to have conversations archived on the phone until people decide to delete them.
New updated failed My phone keeps saying network error I'm on wifi I'm on the network for cell service and still recieving error. I have removed and add it back. Frustrating I need skype to talk with my kids and now I can't via phone. Please fix asap! Will not load even on the computer!
Not connected, need help The past couple of days, something's been wrong with my skype. It says I'm NOT connected when I'm off the app (like going to home screen). And ONLY says connected when I'm directly on the app. I can't receive any calls from anyone if im not already on the app. I Love Skype, but this is frustrating. Skype helps me connect with my long distance relationship, Someone please help.
ARGGHH Just did the update...now once i go out of the app it says im not connected...only connects when i have app open on screen!! After reading other reviews i can see its not just me...I knew i shouldnt have updated it
What the hell is wrong! I've updated it then I can't log in anymore.. I have my wifi working properly and all but app says check your network... Please fix immediately... I have no problem with the old version!!!
Don't fix it if its not broken One update OK , another one comes n it sucks. I think Microsoft is too big to even respond to feedbacks

Disconnects while minimized! I dont know whats going on now, but the second the app is no longer the focus window, the top notification bar shows me as disconnected. The skype notification even warns me that I'm disconnected!
Not connected bug since last update Since the last update was pushed out, the notifications status now shows as disconnected all the time and you get no incoming calls or messages unless you start the app and have it active an your screen. Then the status changes to connected. But as soon as you minimize or change screen the status goes to disconnected and the app is dead. This is being reported all over the community forums and I have reported to Skype directly, but there is no response.
Can't sign in This last update really really SUCKS. Impossible to sign in. Please fix ASAP!! You should know that the day Whatsapp introduces Video Calls its game over for you guys. Over!
Not receiving calls I paid for a Korean Skype phone number so my fiance can call me while in the army. Half the time I never receive his calls. All my settings are set correctly and yet half the calls never appear on my phone and they won't ring. I won't know until later that he tried to call when I see the "missed call." I have even watched this happened. I'm paying for a feature that only works half of the time, that doesn't seem right. I have spoken with customer service multiple times about this and I'm still having issues
Would give 5 stars buuuut There's a glitch where my phone screen turns black when I'm in a call and I don't appreciate it. :/
Again same problem I don't get any notifications about incoming calls or messages unless I open app. App remains disconnected unless it is on the screen. Does not work in the background at all
