Bugsnag understands that privacy is important. This Privacy Policy applies to any and all products, services, applications, Applications, websites, or other affiliated ventures operated by Bugsnag, Inc. Throughout this Policy, “Bugsnag” and “We” refers to Bugsnag, Inc. and its affiliates. “You” refers to you, our customers and users - everyone who uses, subscribes to, publishes through, advertises through, joins, or visits Bugsnag. The “Bugsnag Platform” refers to the libraries, API, website and software-as-a-service platform You choose to download, integrate, and access at https://bugsnag.com.
By using the Bugsnag Platform, You expressly consent to the data handling practices described in this notice. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and is subject to the Bugsnag Terms of Service and/or the Bugsnag Master Services Agreement, whichever is applicable to Your use of the Bugsnag Platform. Your use of the Bugsnag Platform and any personally identifiable information, whether belonging to You personally or to users of Your applications, websites, or other software product (“Your Software”), You provide through the Bugsnag Platform are subject at all times to this Privacy Policy and the Bugsnag Terms of Service and/or the Bugsnag Master Services Agreement. This policy explains how information is collected and used by Bugsnag.
Information You Provide: You may provide to Bugsnag personal information (such as Your name, email address, and/or other persistent identifier such as a commonly used username, age, zip code, credit card number, postal mailing address, and telephone numbers) if You as an individual sign up to use the Bugsnag Platform.
“Cookies” Information: When You access the Bugsnag Platform, we may send one or more cookies - small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters - to Your computer or mobile device. Bugsnag uses both Bugsnag cookies and third party cookies for the following purposes:

Bugsnag collects, analyzes, and stores information provided by You, including information about Your employees who will want to use the Bugsnag dashboard (“Employee Data”) and details of Your Software being monitored by Bugsnag. Employee Data is explicitly provided by You to allow Your employees to log on and access the Bugsnag Dashboards, and is essential for the operation of the Bugsnag Platform.
Bugsnag collects, analyzes, and stores information about crashes and errors in Your Software (“Error Data”). This contains information about how and why Your Software crashed. Error Data is used by You to prioritize and fix errors in Your Software.
Error Data may include diagnostic information to help You reproduce and resolve errors in Your Software (“Diagnostic Data”). Diagnostic Data may contain information about users of Your Software (“End Users”).
Bugsnag may collect certain Diagnostic Data automatically after adding Bugsnag Your Software, but You are always in full control of exactly what Diagnostic Data is collected and/or sent to Bugsnag.
Diagnostic Data may include personally identifiable information, including:
You are responsible for procuring permission from Your End Users to share any Diagnostic Data that may contain their personally identifiable information with Bugsnag. If Bugsnag receives a complaint from an End User of Your Software or any legal authority over any personally identifiable information, Bugsnag will take all reasonable steps to cooperate with the End User and/or legal authority regarding the collection, analysis, storage, and use of such data.
You have full access to Your Employee Data, Error Data and Diagnostic Data.
Bugsnag’s employees have access to Employee Data, Error Data and Diagnostic Data. Bugsnag employees will only ever access this data in order to help You with support requests, or to aid You in the integration of Bugsnag into Your Software. All Bugsnag Employees must adhere to Bugsnag’s Information Security Policy.
Bugsnag uses encryption on all data in transit and multifactor authentication to secure your data. Access is limited to Bugsnag’s employees.
Bugsnag uses the information that You provide or that we collect to operate, maintain, enhance, and provide all of the features and services found on the Bugsnag Platform. We may use Your email address or other provided contact (e.g. mobile number), without further consent, for administrative communications such as notifying You of major Bugsnag Platform updates, for customer service purposes, or to send privacy or security related notices. Bugsnag will not directly contact any of Your End Users unless it is at the request of the End User or a legal authority.
Bugsnag uses the information that we collect to understand the usage trends and preferences of You and our other customers, to improve the way the Bugsnag Platform works and looks, to create new features and functionality. Using the Bugsnag dashboard, You control how Your Employee Data, Error Data, and Diagnostic Data is used for Your Software.
Bugsnag may use automatically collected information and cookies information to: (a) remember Your information so that You will not have to re-enter it during Your visit or the next time You access the Bugsnag Platform; (b) monitor and report aggregate usage metrics such as total number of visitors and pages accessed; and © provide metrics to You as they pertain to Your use of the Bugsnag Platform;
Bugsnag reserves the right to share broad crash statistics with other customers ("Aggregate Information”) in order to help our customers understand industry trends. This data will never contain any personally identifiable information, or any specific information relating to customers or any customer’s software.
We may disclose some limited information to affiliated companies or other businesses or persons to: provide web site hosting, maintenance, and security services; fulfill orders; conduct data analysis and create reports; offer certain functionality; and to assist Bugsnag in improving the Bugsnag Platform and creating new services features. We contractually require that these parties process such information in compliance with this Privacy Policy, we authorize only a limited use of such information, and we require these parties to use reasonable confidentiality measures.
Bugsnag may disclose Your data if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws or respond to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena, or warrant in the manner required by the requesting entity. If we receive any such request, Bugsnag will make reasonable efforts to notify You promptly.
Bugsnag also reserves the right to disclose Your data, including messages, comments, profiles, and more that we believe, in good faith, is appropriate or necessary to take precautions against liability; enforce our Terms of Service; protect Bugsnag from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses; to investigate and defend ourselves against third-party claims or allegations; to assist government enforcement agencies; to protect the security or integrity of the Bugsnag Platform; or to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Bugsnag, our customers, or others.
Your Error Data is stored for anywhere between 14 days and 6 months, depending on your selected Bugsnag plan. If You wish to increase or decrease or the length of time Your data is stored, please contact us. You can delete Error Data at any time from Your Bugsnag dashboard.
Employee Data is stored for as long as Customers require access to their Bugsnag dashboard. You may delete Your account and all associated Employee Data at any time.

Bugsnag is a globally diverse company. Bugsnag employs U.S. and non-U.S. citizens. Every Bugsnag employee agrees to comply with the Bugsnag Information Security Policy.
Bugsnag reserves the right to change service providers at any time.
Bugsnag uses commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of Your personal information. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information You transmit to Bugsnag, and You do so at Your own risk. Once we receive Your transmission of information, Bugsnag makes commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the security of our systems. However, please note that this is not a guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
If Bugsnag learns of a security systems breach, then we may attempt to notify You electronically so that You can take appropriate protective steps. Bugsnag may post a notice on the Bugsnag Platform if a security breach occurs. Depending on where You live, You may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach in writing. Protecting the privacy of children is especially important. The Bugsnag Platform is not directed to individuals under 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Information, we will take steps to delete such information. If You become aware that a child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us.
If You wish to provide to Bugsnag personally identifiable information of children under 13 years of age (“Children’s Data”), You will contact Bugsnag prior to uploading any Children’s Data or integrating the Bugsnag API with Your Software.
If you are the parent or legal guardian of a child under 13 who has become a Bugsnag Platform member, then please contact Bugsnag at [email protected] to have that child‘s account terminated and information deleted.
Bugsnag complies with the U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Framework and the U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from European Union member countries and Switzerland. Bugsnag has certified that it adheres to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access, and enforcement. In the event that Bugsnag is acquired by or merged with a third-party entity, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to transfer or assign the information that we have collected from You as part of that merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control.
Except as otherwise expressly provided otherwise, this document addresses only the use and disclosure of information we collect from You or that You disclose to us. If You disclose Your information to others besides Bugsnag, whether they are users of the Bugsnag Platform or on other sites or services, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the information You disclose to them. Bugsnag does not control the privacy policies of third parties, and You are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties where applicable. We encourage You to ask questions before You disclose Your personal information to others.
This Privacy Policy may be revised periodically without further notice to You and this will be reflected by a “last modified” date above. Please revisit this page to stay aware of any changes. In general, we only use Your data in the manner described in the Privacy Policy in effect when we received that personal information. Your continued use of the Bugsnag Platform constitutes Your agreement to this Privacy Policy and any future revisions.
