The Boeing 777 disappeared on its way from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, sparking a two-year search has turned up few leads. Analysis by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau had found that the debris was consistent with the trailing edge of an aircraft wing, Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said in a statement.

Thai junta under scrutiny amid allegations of exorbitant spending, nepotism
By Amy Sawitta Lefevre and Panarat Thepgumpanat BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's junta came under scrutiny this week after critics filed a petition asking the office of the auditor-general to investigate allegations of extravagant spending on a trip to Hawaii for a defence meeting. It is the latest in a series of allegations against the military government that seized power in May 2014, promising to root out entrenched corruption in state institutions and close Thailand's festering political divide. Flash crash scythes 6% off pound
The pound suffered a "flash crash" in Asia Friday on a computer-generated sell-off in the beleaguered currency, as tough talk from French President Francois Hollande underscored the perils ahead for Brexit-bound Britain. The magnitude of the six percent plunge showed there was likely further volatility ahead for sterling, which has been hammered this week after the British prime minister set out a timetable to leave the European Union. The euro also hit a seven-year-high 94.15 pence, before easing slightly, as minutes from the European Central Bank indicated it is unlikely to trim its stimulus any time soon.
