The ROX Tigers were supposed to dominate Group A at the 2016 League of Legends World Championships. Support player Kang “GorillA” Beom-hyeon says the competition was something the Korean roster wasn’t quite ready for. The biggest shocker of the tournament — and probably in the history of competitive League of Legends — was their defeat at the hands of Wildcard roster Albus NoX Luna.
After a hard fought day from the four teams in the 2016 League of Legends World Championship Group A, we finally know who is going to be making their way to the quarterfinals: Korean side ROX Tigers and – unexpectedly – Wildcard roster Albus NoX Luna. Thanks to a tiebreaker win at the end of the day, ROX Tigers will be the first place seed out of Group A, while ANX will be the second. ANX started the day with a big win over CLG, then rolled on to bring down ROX in a nail-biting 67 minute victory, earning them a spot in the quarterfinals (a first for a Wildcard team).

Renegades is the newest esports organization to announce its entry into the Smash Bros. scene. This morning, the team announced it had signed Smash 4 player Samuel “Dabuz” Buzby and Melee player James “Swedish” Liu. The move is one of the first under new owner Jonas Jerebko of the Boston Celtics.
According to Warcraft lore, Samuro is the last remaining Blademaster to don the banner of the Burning Blade. More importantly, Samuro is a tried and true Auto-Attack hero. When activated, the Blademaster’s next attack within 10 seconds will deal 50% increased damage. This also applies to the two Mirror Images (Q) he can spawn at will.

ESL One New York gave out six invites, and had two open qualifier spots. The only team that played at ESL One that will not be participating in ELeague is Team Liquid.
