Here, she shares her favorite secretly healthy indulgence. 
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls (yields approximately 24 pieces)

“If you love eating raw cookie dough, you’re going to love this healthier version,” says Lloyd. “These balls are raw, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free, which make them perfect for almost everyone! They also happen to be the most delicious sweet treat or dessert (without any refined sugar), and are a great afternoon pick-me-up.” 

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups unsalted cashews
  • 1 cup Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp. water
  • pinch of sea salt
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips (I use Enjoy Life brand)
Directions
1. Pulse cashews in a food processor until ground.
2. Add nuts, dates, and vanilla and process until the mixture comes together.
3. Add water as needed.
4. The mixture should stick together when ready.
5. Roll into small bowls and freeze for one hour.
6. These can be stored in the fridge for one week or freezer for one month.

She penned New York Times bestsellers Better Than Before, The Happiness Project, and Happier at Home, and she hosts a podcast called Happier with Gretchen Rubin. We sat down with her to learn the top five tricks anyone can employ to up their happiness level today. 

1. Be in tune with yourself.
Advice should not be comprised of blanket statements, since, as Rubin says, “we’re not one size fits all.” As an example, she notes the difference between morning and evening personalities. “A morning person will absolutely get more done first thing when they wake up,” she says, “while night people might struggle to accomplish things during that same time.” People with houses decorated to the hilt or offices with stray piles of paperwork shouldn’t fret either. Rubin believes the phrase ‘a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind’ is only applicable to some. “There are those who like things minimal, with everything in their place, and there are people who are abundance lovers, where some clutter doesn’t bother them,” she says. “If that’s the case, then that’s fine!” In other words, don’t feel pressured to structure your life in a way that doesn’t feel true to your natural self.

2. Make life changes that give you more energy.
Yes, everyone might be a bit different in what we want and how we attain it, but our level of energy is a common factor in how we feel day-to-day. Sleep, exercise, and eating better are the three things Rubin believes we have control over that impact our physical energy and well-being. Paying attention to what is personally affecting your life in any of these areas gives you a place to think about meaningful change. “Try to pinpoint what is impacting your sleep,” Rubin says as an example. “Maybe it’s going to bed at the same time every night, or going to sleep an hour earlier, or avoiding work before going to sleep—whatever works for you.”

3. Work on your relationships with others.
“Ancient philosophers recognized the importance of our relationships with others,” Rubin says, “and they impact our general happiness in a profound way.” Here, working on relationships doesn’t just mean improving things with your significant other, or relatives, or close friends (though that is one component), but also widening the pool of relationships you do have. The changes you make also don’t have to be monumental to have great effect. Rubin suggests making manageable changes, such as setting a date night once a week with your significant other, or joining a book club.

4. If you’ve tried to do something and failed, try it a different way.
How many of us have set a resolution to work out in the New Year, only to fall back into old habits by February? Don’t beat yourself up, because, Rubin says. The problem might not lie with your lack of willpower. “With exercise as an example, think about the last time you worked out and you enjoyed it,” she says. “Was it with a partner because you like accountability? Was it in a class because you liked having someone else lead? Maybe you prefer being outside instead of indoors at a gym? By paying attention to when you had positive feelings toward an activity, you can build your decisions around those circumstances, and suddenly, things fit.” Often times, negative feelings toward an activity or goal can be averted or changed into positive feelings by simply choosing to try it in a different way.

5. Recognize there is no one magic answer.
While it’s tempting to buy into cure-all practices, they can set you up for failure. What always sets you up for success, though, no matter the goal, is listening to yourself and noting what works in your life. If you fall into the love-me-some-key-lime camp, give this creamy mini pie a try. This recipe actually uses lime juice instead of harder-to-find key lime juice, but you are welcome to use either. The flavor is still refreshing with just enough bite.
Brownies for One 
When you need brownies, you need them STAT. This recipe admittedly and unashamedly makes a pretty generous amount of brownie for one person, but who’s complaining? Sometimes you just can’t be bothered to have a balanced dinner. Plus, you get to pull out those adorable little skillets again.

Comforting, warming, and satisfying: perfect descriptions for what we crave when it’s cold outside as well as this half-pint-sized crisp. Crosby Street Hotel
New York City’s Crosby Street Hotel has a state-of-the-art screening room, which can be rented for professional or private screenings. It’s the ultimate in luxury with 99 comfortable Poltrona Frau orange leather seats and walls lined in wool. 
Mondrian London
Mondrian London’s in-house Curzon Theater is a posh 56-seat screening room, which shows first-run releases, recent titles you may have missed, family films, and classics. The cinema has 4K digital projection, Dolby 7.1 surround sound, and luxurious seating. Curzon Mondrian London is open to public and hotel guests Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays every week.
GoldenEye
The Fleming Villa at the GoldenEye Resort in Jamaica was Ian Fleming’s former home and the site where he penned all 14 James Bond novels. The five-bedroom compound features a screening room that was formally Fleming’s garage. All of the James Bond titles are naturally available to view.
The Ocean House
The Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, offers guests an exclusive movie-going experience with cinema quality technology and an intimate 21-seat screening room perfect for a cozy afternoon in. The room features plush red linen chairs and classic movie posters on the walls. 
Aqua Mekong
When Aqua Expeditions launched its newest boat, the Aqua Mekong, in October of 2014, sailing from Cambodia to Vietnam, one of the new amenities was a beautiful screening room. The Aqua Mekong Theater has reclining lounge chairs and the ship’s movie library includes classics based in the region such as Good Morning Vietnam as well as a wide range of other movies. Guests can get popcorn and snacks delivered anytime. 
Ashford Castle
The medieval Irish castle turned resort Ashford Castle has just undergone a $75 million dollar renovation that included the addition of a beautiful cinema. The 32-seat cinema features vintage film posters from around the world (like the Italian version of Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry). The retro decor features Kai cranberry velvet walls, red Victorian carpets, velvet custom chairs by AT Cronin, and an antique candy dispenser from Christie’s. It regularly shows The Quiet Man, which was filmed in and around the area, and the cast stayed at the castle during the filming in the 1950s.
One&Only Palmilla
At the One&Only Palmilla Los Cabos, one of the most over-the-top rental offerings is the Mexican hacienda Villa Cortez. The 10,500-square-foot indoor/outdoor residence features four bedrooms, an office, private spa, gym, and an opulent 12-seat screening room. The Anderson/Miller-designed suite and screening room has more than 2,600 movies on offer and a 24-hour butler will cue up the show and a decadent spread of popcorn, candy, and other treats for guests.
Mission Point Resort
Mission Point Resort, located on Mackinac Island, Michigan, is home to a turn of the century movie theater. It’s the only theater on the island and offers a real throwback charm. (Christopher Reeve’s Somewhere in Time was filmed on location on the island.)
The Garland
Located in the heart of North Hollywood, The Garland has an onsite retro-chic movie theater where the hotel frequently host viewings of classics like Jaws, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Big. The Garland offers dinner and a movie packages where guests can dine at The Front Yard and then go and watch a movie in the theater.
The London West Hollywood
The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills recently added a state-of-the-art screening room conceptualized by Gonzalez Architects with interiors by Richmond Design. With a contemporary design, plush seating and wall coverings in tones of taupe and plum, the 110-seat theater is ideal for movie premieres and events. It’s the largest onsite screening room for a hotel in the L.A. area, which is saying something for Tinseltown.  
Soneva Fushi Resort
The Soneva Fushi Resort in the Maldives offers an open-air “silent” theater (with Bluetooth headphones). Classic films are screened beachfront while waves lap at the shore and breezes rustle the treetops. Guests can recline on their cushioned loungers while being served complimentary popcorn and over 30 different flavors of ice cream. 
Domaine de Manville
Domaine de Manville, the restored farming estate and newcomer to Provence, has a 10-seat private cinema that screens French and American films. It can even be rented out for groups, and it’s great for kids who would rather watch a Pixar movie while their parents mingle in the courtyard. The door to the cinema is even signed by actor Jean Reno who lives nearby.
