President Obama is in to New York to mark the opening of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly. As the United States works to advance the central goals of fostering a more peaceful world, promoting human rights and working toward a more effective and accountable UN system, we look forward to engaging bilaterally and multilaterally to achieve other topline priorities during UNGA 71, including addressing the global refugee crisis, promoting LGBTI rights, fighting terrorism, promoting sustainable development, and addressing climate change.
