Fresno State students get to try out the “liberating” experience of wearing a hijab:
To get the full effect, they ought to try it on a coercive basis, in Middle Eastern heat, with a husband standing by ready to beat them when they are not in the mood to service him sexually.

We are pushed another small step toward the surreal, dystopian nightmare of pure political correctness that the pointy-headed masterminds have planned for us:

Liberalism has moved so far beyond parody that it is no use trying to make fun of it. All you can do is report what is happening and then bury your face in your hands.
Not everyone is miserable about the Republican nominee. Shrillary’s people have pinned all of their hopes on Trump’s candidacy — as we can see in this WikiLeaked email from Brent Budowsky to campaign chairman John Podesta, dated last March 13:
Right now I am petrified that Hillary is almost totally dependent on Republicans nominating Trump….she has huge endemic political weaknesses that she would be wise to rectify…..even a clown like Ted Cruz would be an even money bet to beat and this scares the hell of out me…..
Budowsky is a left-wing journalist, but he isn’t totally clueless. He also noted in his email that Shrillary is a habitual liar:
Hillary should stop attacking Bernie, especially when she says things that are untrue, which candidly she often does.
Cruz’s appeal was admittedly limited even before his career-crippling Trump endorsement, but as with all of the Republican candidates other than The Donald, he would have had an excellent chance of beating the nearly unelectable Shrillary. Rubio or Kasich, despite their flaws, would have routed her.
This may be why the Dem-supporting media kept the lid locked on their Pandora’s box of Trump revelations until the final month.

We have reached another milestone in our fundamental transformation — the first male CoverGirl:
You might recognize makeup artist and YouTuber James Charles’s face from his ***flawless senior pictures. They went viral after he revealed that he’d brought his own light ring to the portrait session do-over (he didn’t like how the originals turned out).
A memento of that historic event:
So I retook my senior photos & brought my ring light with me so my highlight would be poppin. I love being extra 💀 pic.twitter.com/7Qu1yu8U2P

To continue,
Well, this 17-year-old is about to have another viral moment under his beauty belt (not to mention be a household name!) now that CoverGirl has announced that James is its first male CoverGirl spokesmodel. …
James will start out as the face/lashes of the brand’s latest mascara launch “So Lashy!,” but will also be fully integrated into ads, commercials, etc. He couldn’t be more excited about the news! Just see for yourself:
This paragon of modern maleness represents what they have already reduced our culture to — and they aren’t finished with their social engineering yet.

The governmedia campaign to demonize local police is taking firm hold:
A Houston-area woman says a teenage cashier at a Kroger supermarket in Spring, Texas, stepped away from the cash register and refused to check out her groceries last week because she was offended by the message on the customer’s T-shirt. It read: “Police Lives Matter / All Lives Matter.”
The incident occurred just a week after a similar situation in Alexandria, La., when a police officer in uniform said a cashier declined to check out her groceries.
That too was at a Kroger store.
In Texas, the woman, who says her husband is a police officer and gave only her first name — Meredith — told KTRK Eyewitness News:
“She was stating that the shirt I had on was basically a slap in the face to her and she was doing everything she could not to cry. She made me feel ashamed to have the shirt on, and I don’t appreciate that.”
Evidently the cashiers were not fired for refusing to serve customers, as would have been the case if they had refused to serve a transvestite/black/Muslim/etc. Instead, Kroger issued a statement dripping with P.C. gibberish about “our company values of Diversity and Inclusion.”
Yet when a mob of entitled Black Lives Matter types start looting a Kroger store, it won’t take long for the management to call the police.

As part of his declared war on congressional Republicans, Donald Trump has his national spokesperson encouraging his supporters not to vote down ballot:
I can't keep my phone charged due to the mass volume of texts from people all over the country who will #VoteTrump but⬇️ballot not so much.

This suggests that Trump’s takeover of the Republican Party is not only hostile, but — as with his party-hopping forerunner Michael Bloomberg in NYC — temporary.
It would be difficult to overstate the significance of a “Republican” presidential candidate deliberately sabotaging attempts by the GOP to hold onto the Senate and House. Normally it is far easier for a president to advance his agenda if his party holds Congress. Possible explanations include:
1. Trump has no intention of governing as a Republican. The ruse of portraying himself as a caricature of one having served its purpose, he will discard it upon taking power, probably even faster than his role model Michael Bloomberg did. Even if he does not officially switch parties again once in office, Trump’s Big Government agenda will encounter little resistance from Democrats — or from most remaining Republicans either, no matter how badly he treats them, if recent history is a guide.
2. Trump does not need a legislature, because he plans to rule as a dictator. This one is less likely, but he did proclaim during a primary debate that he would rule by unlawful decree as he sees fit.
3. Trump’s personality is so fundamentally flawed that he cannot refrain from lashing out at anyone he sees as challenging him, no matter how suicidal this behavior may be.
4. Trump knows as well as anyone that he is going to lose, and ignobly wants to take down as many as he can with him.
The actual reason for Trump’s astonishing behavior is probably a confused combination of the above. If there is an honorable, benevolent, or constructive explanation, I have never heard it.
There is only one course of action, and an increasing number of prominent Republicans have found the nerve to take it. Cut Trump loose, mitigate the long-term damage by making it clear to voters that you want nothing to do with him, and rebuild the party when this nightmare is over — if there is enough left of it to rebuild.

No one likes a troll. Check out some of the comments on this site from fervent Trump supporters and you will see why. But just because people try to get on our nerves is no reason to throw them in jail. From Britain:
Internet trolls who create derogatory hashtags or post humiliating photoshopped images could face jail, the country’s most senior prosecutor has warned.
The Crown Prosecution Service has published new guidance to help police determine whether to press charges against someone for their behaviour on social media.
Like most assaults on fundamental liberties these days, the authorities are spinning this in terms of political correctness:
It comes after a major report found one in four teenagers suffered abuse online because of their gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability or transgender identity.
One in four? I’m surprised it isn’t five in four. People who issue reports find what the government pays them to find.
Director of Public Prosecutions Alison Saunders said: “Social media can be used to educate, entertain and enlighten, but there are also people who use it to bully, intimidate and harass.
“Ignorance is not a defence and perceived anonymity is not an escape. Those who commit these acts, or encourage others to do the same, can and will be prosecuted.”
Creating a hashtag to encourage an online harassment campaign, or pushing for retweets of a “grossly offensive message” are given as examples of unacceptable behaviour.
“Grossly offensive” means “disapproved of by authorities.”
Policing content is the role of website owners, not Big Government. Otherwise the Internet will be reduced from a vibrant marketplace of ideas to a bowl of officially sanctioned lukewarm oatmeal.

The reason you can’t ask voters to produce identification in New York City is that it would spoil the practice of busing minority voters from one polling place to the next, at each of which they cast another vote. Just ask Alan Schulkin, Manhattan Board of Elections Commissioner:
Even if we had someone to vote for, many of our votes would get canceled by fraud. That’s the price of letting America degenerate into a Third World country.

Failing to understand that raising the minimum wage also raises unemployment and in general hurts the economy goes beyond economic illiteracy and into the realm of cognitive deficiency. Surely any reasonably intelligent sixth grader could predict that if authoritarian bureauweenies demand unskilled workers be paid more than the market determines their labor is worth, many will be out of job. Many others will never find a job in the first place. Those employers who are unable to pay the inflated wage or to function without low-wage employees will be forced out of business. Then there is the danger of sparking runaway inflation. Democrats understand all this — as a WikiLeaks revelation confirms:
The head of the liberal Center for American Progress privately warned Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign staff against endorsing a $15-an-hour minimum wage, saying that it would be bad for the economy.
Despite that, both the Clinton campaign and the center have since promoted state and local activists’ efforts to push a $15 rate, and Clinton has even said she would sign $15 federal legislation.
Neera Tanden made the warning in an April 2015 email to top Clinton campaign staffers John Podesta, Robby Mook, Jake Sullivan and Jennifer Palmieri. The five were discussing a recent email from New York Mayor Bill de Blasio that gave them a heads up on a rally he was planning that would promote, among other issues, a $15 federal minimum wage. That would more than double the current federal rate of $7.25. …
Tanden is president of the center and its sister organization, the Center for American Progress Action Fund, both of which are aggressive, well-funded advocates of liberal issues. It was founded by Podesta, who took a leave of absence from the organization to join the Clinton campaign.
Podesta is chairman of the campaign.
A $15-dollar minimum wage isn’t just a dumb idea; it is a wicked idea. Shrillary, Podesta, and the rest know full well that the consequences would be economically devastating. They don’t care, because unemployment means government dependence, and government dependence means Democrat votes.

No longer will the shrinking violet keep his feelings bottled up inside. Now Donald Trump will let his hatred of the party he is in the process of destroying come gushing out:
Despite winning the second debate in a landslide (every poll), it is hard to do well when Paul Ryan and others give zero support!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 11, 2016
Soon afterward, he denounced Ryan as “very weak and ineffective.” Ryan is the highest ranking Republican.
It is so nice that the shackles have been taken off me and I can now fight for America the way I want to.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 11, 2016
That means worse will follow. Buckle up for a rough ride.
Just as when Michael Bloomberg pulled the same party-switching trick, Trump’s conversion to a Republican is shallow and probably short-lived. His attempts to pander to more likeminded Bernie Sanders voters continue:
With the exception of cheating Bernie out of the nom the Dems have always proven to be far more loyal to each other than the Republicans!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 11, 2016
At least Republicans have Donald Trump to teach them all about loyalty.
That’s not all he will teach them:
Disloyal R's are far more difficult than Crooked Hillary. They come at you from all sides. They don’t know how to win – I will teach them!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 11, 2016
If this is the rage that results from even tepid resistance by invertebrates like Paul Ryan (who still endorses him for president), imagine how vengeful The Donald will be if he actually takes power and people balk at the unlawful orders to torture and murder he has promised to issue.

Thanks to the Trump debacle, Democrats will be popping champagne corks after the election next month. But for those who actually end up working in the next administration, the jubilation will be short-lived. Hacked emails released by WikiLeaks reveal how much fun it is to work under the Clinton clan:
Former President Bill Clinton’s chief adviser at the time, Doug Band, sent an email to the former president’s staff involved with the Clinton Foundation that he talked the nonprofit’s COO, Laura Graham, out of ending her life.
“Late last night, laura graham called me as she couldn’t reach my brother or her shrink,” Band wrote in a Dec. 2011 email chain discussing the Clinton Foundation’s “infrastructure.”
“She was on staten island in her car parked a few feet from the waters edge with her foot on the gas pedal and the car in park,” he wrote. “She called me to tell me the stress of all of this office crap with wjc and cvc as well as that of her family had driven her to the edge and she couldn’t take it anymore.”
“I spent a while on the phone with her preventing her from doing that, as I have a few times in the past few months, and was able to reach roger and her shrink,” Band wrote.
wjc and cvc evidently stand for William Jefferson Clinton and Chelsea Victoria Clinton, respectively.
According to Band, Laura Graham isn’t the only one not much enjoying working for the Clintons:
Band wrote how “stress” at the Clinton Foundation directly caused “very serious health issues” with “Bruce.” Band is likely referring to Bruce Lindsey, the foundation’s chairman of the board.
Vince Foster’s suicide seems less suspicious when you consider how hellish life must be around Shrillary et al. Just ask a Secret Service agent.

You can tell yourself that Trump is conservative, that he is a decent human being, that he is fit to be president, that he has a chance of winning. But can you actually believe any of it? His enablers certainly try. In the process, they may become as nonconservative, as indecent, as unfit, and as unelectable as Trump himself — all topped off with enough hypocrisy to gag a vulture. Mike Pence is a particularly appalling example. Bret Stephens rips into him:
The Indiana governor is supposed to be the sober side of Trump-Pence, the guy who keeps cool, knows his policy brief and imposes ideological discipline on a ticket that would otherwise blow whichever way Mr. Trump puffs. But that misreads Mr. Pence’s role in this disastrous GOP season. Mr. Pence isn’t his boss’s junior political partner. He’s his moral enabler.
He means “enabler” in the sense of those who facilitate drunks and drug users by making it possible for them to get by without overcoming their addiction.
On Saturday, after the video eruption, Mr. Pence seemed to have his own moral awakening, refusing to serve as Mr. Trump’s surrogate at an event in Wisconsin and hinting that he might pull out of the race if his running mate didn’t express sufficient contrition at Sunday’s debate. But Mr. Pence’s moment of clarity was as short-lived as Mr. Trump’s remorse. He now claims he never considered leaving the ticket.
What a shame for Mr. Pence to besmirch himself through dogged fidelity to a candidate whose own notions of loyalty are as one-way as his concept of marriage.
Then again, maybe I’m being too generous to the Indiana governor, whose dismay at Mr. Trump’s behavior might be as sincere as Captain Renault’s objections to gambling at Rick’s Cafe in “Casablanca.” If Mr. Pence is shocked, shocked to discover Mr. Trump is a cad, then he’s a fool. If he isn’t so shocked, he’s a cad, too.
This isn’t just about Pence…
The larger question is what it says about the Republican Party that men like Mr. Pence remain willing to carry Mr. Trump to the finish line—and carry his insults, boasts, prejudices, predations, threats and lies with them. My guess is that it means the current GOP is nearly beyond redemption.
On November 9, the Republican Party will have sacrificed all of its values for a cheesy, vulgar swindler who delivered the White House to Hillary Clinton. Maybe hitting rock bottom will wake it up, and it will strive for redemption. But if decisive rejection of the degeneracy and statism Trump personifies does not immediately follow, then J.D. Rucker is right; conservatives need to let the GOP die and start a new party. Serving as moral enablers would only allow it to burrow more deeply into sickness.

If you want a job in law enforcement, not being a criminal is okay, but the important thing is not to be a white man:
[Last] Wednesday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) released the “Advancing Diversity in Law Enforcement” report, which highlights hiring practices in the law enforcement community. In the report. the DOJ discusses problems associated with diversifying police forces, claiming racial diversity is more important than being a law-abiding citizen.
From the report:
Researchers and practitioners have also highlighted that the use of criminal background checks, which are a regular part of the screening process for many agencies, is likely to disproportionately impact racial minority applicants since, for a variety of reasons [actually, for one reason: they commit more crime], individuals from those communities are more likely to have contact with the criminal justice system.
Since the only real criterion is not to be a white male, and white males are less likely to have criminal records, then obviously checking into the criminal histories of potential law enforcement officers would be counterproductive.
If being a criminal doesn’t count against you, why should not being an American citizen? Also from the report:
Allowing work-authorized non-U.S. citizens to work in state and local law enforcement, particularly in jurisdictions with large immigrant populations, can enable agencies to more closely represent the diversity of their community. Especially as agencies work to serve communities with a large percentage of limited English proficient (LEP) residents, excluding officers who are not U.S. citizens may significantly limit the number of applicants who speak languages other than English.
Meanwhile, these same people are using Black Lives Matter riots and rhetoric to work toward federal control of local police. In the future, calling 911 will just get you robbed again.

No, I did not say, “Happy Indigenous People Day” — although that’s what we are supposed to call it now here in Phoenix:
Phoenix, Arizona declared it would recognize Native Americans with its first Indigenous Peoples’ Day this year, reports The Arizona Republic.
“The city of Phoenix is built on what was the Hohokam civilization,” advocate Jeff Malkoon told city council members while lobbying for the change.
But Hohokam culture failed, disappearing before Columbus set sail. It was the civilization brought to the New World by Columbus that build a great city where many centuries ago the Hohokam had dug some canals.
Phoenix isn’t alone. Minneapolis, Seattle, and Albuquerque are among the other cities that stick it to Columbus and the civilization he represents by honoring his alleged victims instead of him.
Proponents say the federal holiday honoring Christopher Columbus – and the parades and pageantry accompanying it – overlook a painful history of colonialism, enslavement, discrimination and land grabs that followed the Italian explorer’s 1492 arrival in the Americas. The indigenous holiday takes into account the history and contributions of Native Americans for a more accurate historical record, activists have argued.
They want an accurate historical record? Then they had better not forget to mention that the denizens of the Western Hemisphere were Stone Age, subsistence level savages when Columbus arrived. They did not even have the wheel. Slavery, cannibalism, and human sacrifice were commonplace. Life was, as Thomas Hobbes might put it, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.
The authorities want us to be ashamed of Western Civilization, and to revere the imaginary golden age of the noble savage. This is moonbattery at its most delusional and corrosive.

Wind turbines may hideously mar otherwise beautiful landscapes, they may be a notoriously inefficient means of generating electricity, they may cost the taxpayer a fortune in government subsidies, but they help the liberals in charge feel good about themselves for symbolically combatting the imaginary global warming menace. No doubt the flourishing man-eating polar bears are grateful — but birds aren’t:
According to the study published in the journal Conservation Biology, a team of researchers from Purdue University has discovered that wind energy fields could kill birds not local to the area including large species including endangered golden eagles.
In order to assess how deadly wind turbines are, the team used the DNA and isotopes from the dead golden eagle’s feathers. By using the stable isotopes in the bird’s feather, scientists were abe to determine where the bird originated. The researchers found out that about 75 percent of the 63 birds found dead in the area were local birds while the remaining 25 percent were migratory birds.
Results also showed that the golden eagles found dead at the Altamont Pass Wind Resource Area (APWRA) located in Northen California came from hundreds of miles away in the western U.S. …
APWRA, one of the oldest and largest wind farms in the world, has been responsible for 140,000 to 328,000 bird deaths and 500,000 to 1.6 million bat deaths.
Bat deaths are a problem because bats keep down the mosquito population. Mosquitos are mankind’s #1 enemy; the horrible diseases they spread currently include West Nile virus and Zika virus.
Wind turbines are at least partially to blame for the population decline not only of the golden eagle but of the sage grouse. If the sage grouse makes the endangered species list, it could spell doom for Wyoming’s economy:
Maybe we should do nature a favor by sticking with more sensible means of generating energy, like coal and nuclear.

University of Wisconsin–Lacrosse helpfully offered a costume review to help you determine whether your Halloween costume is a thought crime. But what if it’s your dog whose costume is politically incorrect?
“Is Your Dog’s Halloween Costume Sexist?” asked the headline of a Washington Post piece—not a satire, not even a bit of Style section fluff, but an article in the Business section by Abha Bhattarai.
Young girls may be discarding their princess wands for superhero capes this Halloween, but not so in the canine world.
The glass ceiling appears to be firmly in place at PetSmart, where career costumes labeled “male” include firefighter and police officer, while female dogs can choose between a pink cowgirl costume and pink loofah.
Evidently we are expected to be outraged that the folks at the pet shop assume dogs to be cis-gendered.
Her piece quotes Scott Lawrie of San Francisco, who plans to cross-dress his male dogs as Cagney and Lacey. But he won’t buy any dog costumes from PetSmart until they remove the sexist labeling.
“Even if it’s just on principle, this is important,” he said. “I’m waiting until they fix it.”
I suppose having trivial lunatic principles is better than having no principles at all.
Ms. Bhattarai alleges that female doggie costumes cost more than male costumes, which she appears to genuinely regard as evidence of a sexist conspiracy. A commitment to diversity may be taking a toll on quality at the Washington Post.
