Turned into battery hog Before the latest patch this app never made it into top 5 for battery usage, now it is number 1. Why the big increase? At least data sage seems to remain reasonable. I like the widget to get a quick check of weather but if you are going to use 10 to 20 percent of my battery when I almost never have the app running, it is time to shop around.

Appears less accurate after update I previously rated this app 5 stars; I loved it! However, after the update it no longer allows you to manually refresh the weather information and it no longer tells you when the information was updated. It was very helpful to see when it was last updated so we know if the displayed info is accurate or not. Note to developers: you successfully made the AccuWeather app appear less accurate. Great job!

Nice looking but not accurate I really like the look of this app. The MinuteCast feature is cool and looks very appealing. However it's just not very accurate. It's been raining sheets for the last 20 minutes and my MinuteCast shows no precipitation. Third time this has happened in the last several weeks. I'm going to try some other options for now

Still easy, but the location icon is in the way I don't remember the location icon being right in the way, and I don't see a way to remove it without changing the favorite city to somewhere out of the way. I am ok with the battery useage and very happy with the interactive map. The map behaves the same as Google Maps when zooming and moving around the area. I will upgrade if it allows removing the location icon, because I already know where I'm at... still 4 stars 😊
Weather is weather and here's a way to figure it out Fishing, hunting, hiking, and getting lost in nature. Have some fun and enjoy the time you made for it by knowing how the weather will be. If you can imagine it I've done it and with my smart phone I always have this app because in my opinion it's the best, and I always know how the day, or weekend will treat me.

Better before the updates This app was much better, more stable, and more accurate before the latest updates. It now freezes and stops responding, does not load radar as fast, and is overall sluggish. The old layout was easier for me to navigate which I would find acceptable if not for the functional issues. It was a 5 star and is now barely 2. I may not endure through before trying a different source for the weather.

Thank you for the 5 star rating!
-AccuWeather Team Better before the updates This app was much better, more stable, and more accurate before the latest updates. Simple, clean, accurate and trustworthy... Everyone loves eye candy. Who doesn't? But AccuWeather has been a trusted source for years and doesn't need all the bells & whistles. Just accurate information in a easy-to-user-friendly environment helping you plan your day and refer quickly to the changes in your day; a consistent, reliable source. I've used AccuWeather for years on all my devices and have tried all the others including paid apps, but always come home to what I believe in and utterly trust: AccuWeather, anytime and anywhere...
Great app. Focus is on weather unlike the other Weather Channel app! This one alerts your phone when needed, has easy navigation, great radar, and even tells you when your about to get hit with rain and how long it will last. The "other" app wants you to play at points that are rated by how often you visit. If I wanted that, I'd log onto one of my game apps!
Like this app Very good app, believe it's the best one out. Did not rate 5 stars because the ongoing notification does not update to where I'm located. It just stays on my town I've favorited. I drive a lot for my job and I'm not concerned about the weather 2 hours away. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I wish that could be fixed and I would rate 5 stars.
Its good but there are rooms for improvements Whenever I tried to add another location, the app shuts down. You need to fix it. I have to travel a lot, if I could know the weather of my destination, it will be a 5 star app. I have seen it work in primitive platform, so you should be able to get around it.
Used to be my go to Simple and clean... visually appealing IMO. But I utilize the radar maps several times per day, everyday and it just doesn't update (refresh) radar data from the previous view... be that hours or days ago. And there is no refresh "button." I'm going with the competition for a little while until this nonsense gets fixed.

Thank you for the 5 star rating!
-AccuWeather Team Good app, bad widget What did you do to your widget? Replaced 4x1 with 4x2, but didn't add any new information? Seems like a pointless update, and even a step backwards. If you're going to take up that much real estate, at least give us a clock, too. Time to find a new weather app, I guess. Disappointing...
Love it! Great weather app, I like how I have a widget that tells me the next few days weather. On my phone I like to have one screen with just folders and apps and other screens are widgets , I would also like a widget larger than 1x4 icon size. I love the app and I will continue to use it. For those who complain about accuracy, please understand they have multi million dollar computers predicting the weather patterns in conjunction with meteorological research and speculation. Predicting the future is hard.
Doesn't work We live in Florida & have storms pop up all the time. When I open the app it shows the storm is horrible but when zoom in they completely disappear. I can look out the window & see it should be purple but instead it shows no rain. Other times it just doesn't work at all.
I use it all the time! More accurate than Weather Bug at times, but the radar has trouble loading. Just downloaded the updated app. I like the newer dark background with contrasting colors. Too new to rate the operation yet. I'm guessing after this Tropical Storm hits, I'll have a much better idea!
Upgrade is bad. Another upgrade and still not finding local places. Can I go back to the version that worked? This app use to be able to add remote small locations but now can't even find queenstown. Very disappointed
Back to AccuWeather Had Weatherbug for years but needed more than 10 day forecast and didnt need all the other lifestyle home energy stuff Weatherbug added. Switched back to AccuWeather a couple of weeks ago and prefer the simple easy interface and 15 day forecast. Thanks for making the app about WEATHER!!

Thank you for the 5 star rating!
-AccuWeather Team Switching favorites I'm having trouble switching favorite city. Why doesn't the current location weather display by default? I'd rather see my current location weather vs my favorite (home) location as default and go searching for another location if I'm curious. Hop2 that makes sense
Bad Changes Your last major change was not a change for the better! Who cares what the weather was in the "past"? We want to know what's in the future! And you're now showing every little potential rain "dot"...give us the big picture!
Keep accidentally backing out of app I keep accidentally backing out of the the app with the new version because of the UI change. Example: tapping a day brings up full screen info hiding the system icons at the bottom. To show them again, you traditionally swipe up from the bottom in other apps. This app, swiping up acts as a "back" tap so I end up essentially tapping back 2x exiting the app. Annoying, and only functions this way on some of the screens (days and hourly views but not radar for example). Also needs more descriptive day details
Not accurate Fails to load hourly forcast, fails at predictions. Radar ok, never updates unless I completely close the app and restart it, same goes for everything on it now. What the hell accuweather?! Go back to when it actually worked!
Decent app but nags worse than your mum What does "material design" mean and why should I enjoy using it like that? Then every time I leave I get pestered to leave a review. So here it is. It's a decent app that shows you weather data freeing you from having to bother watching the TV for at least 10 minutes to get your local info from TWC, but stop bothering me.
So far so good appears pretty accurate. However temps seem to be a few degree hotter or colder than whats on app. Also, they need to make the temp. numbers in the upper right corner screen bigger. But it works so far. Will continue 2 watch it.
Informative Seems accurate enough and provides most of what I need to plan accordingly to weather. I like the changes made that seem to make location data more accurate. One thing I have noticed is Minute Cast may show inaccurate location data but is close enough to rely upon forecast.
Had to stay with older version for a while I have now given it 5 stars as the newest version had a problem on my phone and I had remained with last version of series 3 updates. This worked perfectly but now after a few updatrs for big fixes the new version is working great
Worst application ever seen This is the worst weather forecast application I ever downloaded on the Internet as it is unable to find my exact location unlike other applications which atleast locate me accurately. This application is showing me at a place 29 km away from where I am actually residing. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Plz do not download this bogus application. Try some other one
HOLY BATTERY BURNER BATMAN. According to battery usage (built in on my Note 7) this app has been using 5.33% every hour. Slowed my phone down, and charging is going much faster not that I have uninstalled the app.
Very useful, but a battery hog I like the interface on this app. However, it is really eating up my battery. My phone has been unplugged for three hours. When I checked the battery indicator in Android just now, it says that AccuWeather has used 12%. The app has not been opened and "on-going notifications" are turned off. I'm going to uninstall for this reason alone.
Functionality is great, radar often wrong I really like the idea of predicted rain forecast up to 120 minutes out, unfortunately there are major inconsistencies between the radar through AccuWeather and every other single app and local weather channel. Often displays storm in incorrect area and future forecast shows storms that have already dissipated hours ago. Maybe this is an issue with just regional radar in Florida but so far it's been more often wrong than right.
I like the information that's put out, I like the radar with all the colors that tell you what kind of storm it is ,the past the future being able to know what the weather is doing, don't change a thing. the weather channel changed theirs and I looked at the radar and couldn't tell what the storm was doing so I switched 2 AccuWeather
Pretty good! I'd say it's about 75℅ accurate but it is fun to watch the extended forecast change on a regular basis. Obviously no one can forecast the weather past the next day. Well never figure out how to understand or control mother nature.
Maps don't work consistently. A black market above the map play bar started to appear recently and slowly moves with no map radar. A frequent 51% rain chance must mean it isn't going to rain since it rarely does. I can flip a coin to. Weatherbug Google maps work better.
No current location temp! There is no option for "current location temp" only available is "favorite location temp" when choosing 'on-going notification'. So, if you go somewhere and want to see the temp you can't because it only shows the place you have added as favorite. I hope it get fixed. Otherwise everything else about this app is just wonderful. Thank you!
What happened? I'm a landscape designer and I used to be able to use this app to ignore the weather.... and keep working. it was so accurate No matter how bad the clouds look I could keep working down to the very minute, put my equipment up and almost as soon as I shut the door the rain would come with me safe inside my truck! EVERY SINGLE TIME! ( Amazing ) but now it predicts a forecast of rain and it doesn't even rain I sure would like the old app back.
v4.2.8 disappointing I've used this app forever, but v4.2.8 constantly crashes or just hangs. Before this major upgrade, it ran perfectly on my Droid Turbo and RAZR-M. I've uninstalled, cleared caches, cycled power and reinstalled with no success. I'll still use it, hoping for a fix.
Ok but needs improvement Two suggestions: 1) enable showing hourly forecasts on the screen when using the widget. 2) the map under "maps" is useless. It's not clear what is shown on the map, the legend is unclear and the color coding needs to change.
Nice weather app The widget gets stuck on one location and won't change. The settings don't work. I'm about to remove this as really useless. There are too many apps that work correctly to have to mess with stuff that doesn't work.
Absolutely amazingly precisely correct everywhere I go. Kinda scary you think how far advanced they keep greeting! Imagine what they are working to improve next generation? WOW! THIS IS ONLY VERSION I USE THOUGH MY LOCAL T.V. CHANNEL USE IT. This app all you need for weather and not channel! Lol Incredibly accurate especially predicted time rain or snow is to hit your location. Never failed exact time. Wow and not even the design makes it easier to see wonderful absolutely positive update.
Ok The thing isn't quite right tho usually closer than other apps. .. however it, even with gps, it has no idea where I'm at. . Currently it tells me it thinks I'm in a place that's 1.5hrs away.
So far so good Just got it a few days ago but so far I really like it compared to the stock weather app. I specifically got it because I used to use minute cast (my favorite feature so far) on the website and now it's at my fingertips
