I'm a bit curious about how my developer implemented the sitemap. In my experience when you go to the URL where the sitemap is hosted, www. example.com/sitemap.xml, the page loads with the .xml document. In this case, when you type in the URL it automatically downloads the sitemap to the browser. Nothing loads on the page.

My question, is this implementation ok to submit to Google for review? I'd hate to submit something to Google that will cause issues for my site down the line...

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Hello,

Want some feedback if you have a second please. Hopefully this is the correct area.

I found some old broken links going to a domain that had some issues with Google before. I redirected some of the bad links from GOOD sites mind you, but I am seeing some other bad sites (not too many). But our inbound links went from 25k to 86k over the last 2-3 weeks. 300 domains to about 488.

Now please note. I looked at say the top 25 linked to my site and that composes of 82k of the links. For example here are some site (note I checked none of these were banned by Google or Adwords, here AdSense Account Disabled? Banned from AdSense?). Jobvite.com, glassdoor.com (.uk, .ca, .fr,), bbb.org, yellowpages.com, jobs.net, activerain.com and some other sites from our branches, which are not banned.

I am going through each of the 466 domains and any really bad links I will add to the disavow and try to contact them and keep a document on that.

My concern is a lot of them came in at once.

I do see some .top and .xyz domains, which I will block.

What is everyone's thoughts?

Thanks

Hello everyone I am having a big issue whit one of my pages.

Will explain in short details:
I wanted to optimize one of my pages for better google ranking and try to reach 1st page, after that I realized that I don't have a page which describes perfectly the keyword.
The keyword was "гаражни врати" translation "garage doors". The first time I used ever this keyword was on my home(index.php) page.
Now I have created a new page only for the garage doors and placed that keyword for it and removed it from my home page. I waited some time but nothing happens, still my index page has better ranking than the one I want to be ranked.
I have tried to change the content to be more descriptive, alt tags, no broken links, page description, added in sitemaps.xml, h1 tags, h2 tags, internal links and everything to rank it better but nothing helps.

After all my home page still has better ranking than the one I want to be ranked. (My home page have only one time use of garage door in h2 tag)

here is my home page: stoikovstroi.com/
and this is the page that I want to rank better: stoikovstroi.com/en/hm/gd/garajni.php

If anyone could help and give me some tips what am I doing wrong would be great because I have already spend over 2 months of reading stuffs about that and nothing helped.

First thing I would like to know...

1. I update Heading on my home page "Best Financial Firm Reviews 2017 by ABC Inc"

Now my question is if I'm going in to 2018 what happen's this content which is crawled and indexed by Google already when I change my content to "Best Financial Firm Reviews 2018 by ABC Inc"

Do I updated fresh content on top of the home page that 2017 goes below or create a new URL and sideline the older one to a Previous year reviews???

Okay so I've never seen anything like this before but I am hoping someone can make sense of this.

My company launched a new website and I searched (site:domain.com) in google, the pages appear to be indexed.

Now when I searched on of our keywords "frac sand evaluations" the number 1 ranking shows up as Wakarusa Music Festival - June 4 - 7, 2015 with my exact site title and description.
My site can be found here http://bit.ly/2jANfur

When I click on it I get warned that the site will try to steal my info so I click back. I don't know what the site leads to. I do know that if I go to wakarusa.com manually it goes to some music festival which has nothing to do with my site.

Can anyone help?

**Edit: appears to be an issue with our certificate and our ip being related to that other site. I am having our host look into it but that's most likely the problem.

Any recommendations to help improve this time? For instance, I just ran a test and it gave me a D grade at 3.56s. Is this a hosting issue or with the site I made in general? The rest of the scores are A's and any performance test I run for page speed, the site is always produces great scores.

I have a few questions regarding it.

1. How much of an impact does an SSL certificate on a site have for SER?

2. I found this link for free SSL certs - https://letsencrypt.org/ .... are there any others you recommend (My site does not need the best cert)?

3. I read that redirecting all pages to the https version of the site is critical, as well as permanent redirects. I had a website in the past with an SSL cert and I used the following methods within the htaccess file. Would this suffice?

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.(.+) [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*) https://%1/$1 [R=301,NE,L]
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [NE,L,R=301]

Any other information would be great. Thanks!

Hello, I was wondering if someone could should some light on an issue I am currently experiencing.

We have a website which we were upgrading to a new theme on WordPress. It had 8GB worth of images
so to create the new website we did the following:

- Fresh WordPress installation and MySQL database.
- Installed the new theme
- Used WordPress importer to import the posts and pages from the original website minus the images.

Once the website was complete we then transferred the new website and database to the 'live' hosting platform.
The original images remained in place and never changed URL's.

The issue I am having now is my client is saying the images are falling from Google Images when
searching. No images have changed their location and they remain on the same posts of the original
URL.

Is it possible to lose SEO ranking by having a new database which has not changed any URL addresses?

Thank you in advance.

I'll keep it brief. This topic is very debatable. Question: Does social media affect SEO
My answer is yes. Many SEOs have identified via analytics that social media efforts affect SEO but none seem to know why or how. The links are nofollow and not exactly "natural" by Google's standards and have no value as far as Page rank/authority and etc. However, most websites are connected with Google Analytics which collects data about who has viewed a website. This information is then used to make that website show up much higher in search results for persons who have been on that page. I.e. if you get thousands of people on your blog via social media, your website will likely show up near the top of the first page followed by the words "last visited January 3" or you visited "January 3" etc. These personalized results show up in analytics and Webmaster tools data causing an upward trend in both position and CTR. I have limited experience in the field of SEO so if you guys could weigh in on the topic would be great!
