Too many changes I had really loved Messenger app before Facebook added plenty of unnecessary sections. Maybe the update might be liked by some, but I really want my simple layout back! There should be an option to hide active now, bdays and everything else but latest conversation spreads forever!!! I'm not huge fan of Facebook but Messenger used to be my fav communication tool. Now all I want to do is to delete it and never look back at it again.

Photo Loader is Still Garbage Need to give option of which image/file browser to use when sending pictures. The FB Messenger one is TEDIOUSLY ANNOYING how it loads everything when it is simpler to browse to specific folders that you know where what your looking for is rather than having to wait while it sorts through and loads 1000+ images and vids I have on my phone.
So easy I use this more to send messages than i do just textng. Love the fact that I able to talk to anyone, even without having to have their phone number. Super easy. Just wish you could delete multiple messages at once instead of going through the whole ordeal for each conversation
Just a waste! You either buy a bigger memory card to fit in the app or erase some of the things you already have to make room. Pointless but I need my messages so this comment will fall on deaf ears like all the unhappy people that was forced to download the app. Hate it! Eventually i will find another way to communicate with people so that i wont need fbook all together!!!!
Problems with getting messages So, I need to have two separate and large apps to use Facebook on my android. It is a very lame logic but I was able to live with it till the recent updates that were supposed to improve performance. After the recent updates, I am not getting messages on this "Dedicated messaging app" while my phone is locked. Bravo 👏
I shouldnt need two bloody apps for one thing. Get rid of this stupid messenger app!! Id like to be able to read my FB messages without this other app make it all in one and not so fancy with its little pop up bubble everytime someone messages me. its a waste of space on my phone and i hate the way it runs.
I hate this thing, and I hate FBs implementation I don't want to make it my primary messenger. Stop asking. Also gives me notifications all the time for messages I have already checked. The only reason I have this is because Facebook disabled checking messages on their mobile app or site, forcing this garbage on you instead. My options are 1) have this stupid app 2) have no way of viewing messages people send on FB
Loading problems - happening again Constant waiting for network (have tried two different phone numbers), I often have to go into the app (rather than using chat heads) for it to load and even then it often doesnt work. With not being able to go through chrome any more this is a big bothee! Please fix, thank you ❤
Why? I don't understand why the Facebook mobile site needs an external application for messages. From a user experience perspective, it takes you away from the service and disrupts the interaction. The goal should be to keep a user engaged with your site. Once I've gone to messenger im not likely to go back and look at the feed if all I wanted to do was send a message. Facebook Ux staff, I'd love to see what the user testing showed.
RIDICULOUS Why you forcing us to download this nonsense app? I dont need and i dont want it. I want to chat from my Google Chrome or any other Browser, but you dont allow me that. This is ridiculous. App should be here to help us and make chatting easy, but if i dont need it and can chat without this app, than let me do it, not force to download!
Annoying and intrusive, this app sucks! The chat heads pop up in an annoying location all the time. The app takes up an incredibly large amount of space. And even worse, my phone's security feature constantly reminds me that this app is phishing and a security threat! Screw you FACEBOOK! Deleting this app now. ZUCKERBERG, you have gone too far!
Please stop this new order. The hell are you doing? My unseen messages show up around 8 rows from the top? WHY? And why should you put that random information no one needs between the 3rd and 4th conversation. Why must you force me to use this? Its not nice or use friendly at all.
Terrible This past update sent it over the edge from tolerable to awful. The fact that my text are showing up in my facebook messenger is creepy and feels like such an invasion of privacy. There is a difference from facebook messages that i am aware aren't private and TEXT MESSAGES that are NOT supposed to be linked with facebook.
Chathead problem The chathead keeps vanishing without me having to drag it down... Even when typing, it can just vanish and its so annoying. FIX IT PLSSS... IVE UPDATED IT SEVERAL TIMES HOPING TO SEE IT FIXED BUT STILL THE SAME PROBLEM
Huge disappointment Used to be good a long time ago but stories feature made it all worse. Really disappointing that such an influential company is coping all features from snapchat and big companies. Unaestethic, inconvenient, unusable. Filled with bugs and glitches. Would rather use Google Allo or basically anything else because now Facebook and Messenger became complete trash.
Not good at all. Keeps disconnecting from any connection to the internet and messages won't send. This happened after my os upgraded to Marshmallow. Also causes "Overlay App Detcted" error to appear when I try to install new apps or reset app permissions which is highly annoying. This app requires a lot of improvement and won't be getting a good review until the problems have been sorted. I know I'm not alone with this issue
Facebook I'm being forced to prove who I am by giving them a picture of my id and am locked out of my account. I just had this account newly done. My old account was taken over by someone else and I could do nothing!!! No help from facebook! Now they are saying there is trouble with something to do with getting the id I just downloaded and sent them!!! I don't think I could be anymore angry! Has anyone had this unusable problem?
Horrible and intrusive Only installed this to communicate with family members who know no better. Why is it that even with internet connectivity disabled my phone stutters to a halt every few minutes followed 9 times out of 10 by 'Messenger is not responding'? What's it doing? Looking at my SMSs? Hey Facebook! My business contacts are not necessarily my friends and I have no desire to share my life with them. Please get your nose out of my private messages.
Sharing posts is useless Messenger doesn't work well for attachments shared with or from me. If a Facebook post is shared within a conversation and the post has an image or video, only the image or video is viewable in the conversation. I can't get to the original post or see the message that was in the original post. I shared a post with a friend so I could find it later, but all I could see was the video, I couldn't get back to the original post which had a link in it that I wanted. That's not useful at all.
The worst It takes so much space while still cannot get me msg on time. I always have to go the website to find a few conversation requests, and sometimes they were actually urgent... The other stupid part is it can not be recognized automatically, I am always asked to install it when I click message on Facebook app... I already have a giant Facebook messenger in my phone why I need another one!!!?
Annoying and unnecessary I do not like being constantly asked to join my texting in messenger. There's no obvious way to log out. I don't need to live on social media and IF someone needs me that bad...they will call or text. Hopefully, they would not send a Facebook message at 3am on a weeknight or whenever because they are bored.
Facebook Never Listens 🖕 This app is completely useless! You force people to use an app that was once integrated into the Facebook app. It takes up unnecessary space on our phones. Your will lose a lot more people if you don't put messages back into the Facebook app where they belong! Get rid of this app!
Better than Facebook I use Messenger instead of the Facebook app because its heavy on my device and if i need my Facebook page i login through one of my browsers. Messenger although not as heavy as Facebook is still w the most hungry app amongst my other apps for communication,but i'm shure that if the devs could make it lighter they would.
Meh. Two weird but important flaws. Its buggy still. When I try to switch between accounts, it gives me an error message and there's no way to see messages from either of my two accounts. I have to uninstall and reinstall to get it to recognize either account and let me view my inbox. Fix the bug and stop asking me to rate my call quality (it's been a year) and I'll change my rating to a 5 star.
Fix bugs before new features please. Can't send like stamp. Can't copy/paste in chat head. Url thumbnail mismatch. Etc. I reported these problems few times since july but they did nothing yet. Plz debug before add more features
Every time i go to messenger since all the new updates. It says i am not connected to the Internet and I am sitting in my home and my internet is working on fb and every other item in my home. Cant do calls or video messenger. Been this way for a long time and no one seems to know why?
Log out and Facebook You really should able people to log out of their account. Some people may have two, one for business and the other for personal. Also is fb messenger not compatible with Facebook because I tried to log into Facebook with my info of fb messenger but it wouldn't work
My issue never got fixed!!! I uninstalled and reinstalled this app and it still shows a blank loading page since the recent update. I have data and connected to Wi-Fi. I reported it the Facebook 3 times and still nothing happened! I am not satisfied with this app since the recent update! It doesn't work like it did before the recent update! The only way to read messages is pop up chat heads with new message(s). I want this issue fixed please Facebook!
Why can't we turn off notifications permanently? I don't want this as a standalone app, not some constant background annoyance. This should be integrated with the main Facebook app. However, viewing profiles is currently awkward since it requires bouncing between apps.
Creators should be ashamed. Another update for what?! There is too many bugs and it's barely usable. The more and more I use this app, it gets worse and worse with every update.. another update and not one thing fixed.. Just a stupid emoji pack to quell the sheep. copy/paste function is shameful if it works. Full of app breaking bugs that hinders if not ruins the experience. Facebook and messenger are power hungry resource hogs, what nightmares... auto correct won't work on note 7. Count badges are so out of whack its laughable.
Me Also find this new app annoying! Really bugs me that u can't just message straight from FB as before, so will be uninstalling and not using FB to message anyone. Whatsapp is now my preference and if friends don't have it then text and calls it is. Some improvements don't need to be made, it wasn't broke so why try to fix it!!

Should be way better It's too slow and never convenient for an application of high usage. If I send a message with proper internet connection is it too much of me to expect it to deliver instantly instead of 3-5 minute buffer. Sometimes the other persons messages somehow end up at the bottom and mine ends on the top. Overall very frustrating please fix!
Nice with a small bug Overall usability and performance is nice. But I'm facing a small bug. That is, the messenger is sometimes giving me notifications for facebook messages sent by me to someone, as if the messages has been sent by that person to me. Also, I can't get rid of the notification except by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Coz only then the 'new' app shows my own message as a new message in the conversation and I can open that and get rid of that messenger notification. This is annoying. Please fix this bug.
I have to push it 5 times to have a conversation. "PLEASE FIX IT". Oh every time I open one of my 3 account's "WITHOUT FAIL IT ALWAYS SENDS A TEXT ON MY PHONE THAT SAYS" I can open several accounts under the one". -VERY ANNOYING!
