The location is fantastic and is beautiful, the service however is none of the above. We got stuck in the cable car for 30 minutes and for someone with a fear of heights this experience was nearly traumatic! To make matters worst, our faith in the systems in place in such situations was completely eradicated when we watched a member of staff in flip flops climb 5 metres from the top down the near vertical metal frame and climb into the cable car, with no safety rope or harnes...s. Shocking! If he slipped, he would have died! We were stuck in the cart with 8 Balinese workers who were jumping around and laughing throughout the ordeal and not one could explain what was happening, which worsened our fears. They kept pressing all of the buttons in a haphazard and frankly worrying manner.
When we explained to the manager (whom we had to wait for 30 minutes after being stuck for 30 mins and already late), although he was apologetic, he offered little compensation for the experience. When he finally offered to have us again for lunch we explained we hadn't the time on our trip and frankly didn't want to return. He refused to refund us and was very inconsiderate to our predicament.
The food discount is very misleading!
We purchased 3 burgers at 180 000 and a Bintang at 45,000. The 21% service charge (6% greater than normal) was applied to the total bill of 575,000 and not after the food and drink discount (450,000 for three people). This meant that we paid service charge of 123k instead of 28k.
Very cheeky in my book.
