Obama Admin. Uses Hurricane Matthew to Grant Amnesty to Illegal Aliens

A new alert by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced this month that the Obama administration would grant work permits to illegal aliens who were affected by the hurricane and would assist those who missed their deportation hearings. Hurricane Matthew devastated the eastern coastline from Florida to Virginia, which would mean that any illegal aliens who were in this region could take advantage of these “immigration relief” measures.

Repatriation to Recalcitrant Countries, Now Almost a Quarter Million, Still Not Obama Priority

Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., released data indicating that nearly a quarter of the one million aliens who have final orders of removal come from countries that refuse to accept, or that delay the acceptance of, their nationals from the United States. Although the Obama Administration has options available to take action against these recalcitrant countries, these aliens are being released to the streets every day and committing crimes, Sen. New Surge of Border Crossers Creating a Shortage of Detention Beds

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson met with ICE and CBP officials on Tuesday to review their plans to hold the expected surge of people crossing the southern border in the next few weeks and months. Currently ICE is holding a record breaking 40,000 people in their detention centers but is expecting that number to rapidly increase to 45,000 in the next months, leaving ICE to scramble to find enough space to house the expected detainees.

Lawsuit Charges Environmental Impacts of High Legal, Illegal Immigration Ignored

The Washington Examiner reports the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) and a number groups are suing the Department of Homeland Security, alleging that its policies did not take into consideration the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act. Julie Axelrod, IRLI’s lead counsel on the case, said, “Our lawsuit will demonstrate that legal and illegal immigration have a very significant impact on the environment, which DHS has spent the last 46 years ignoring.”

Judge Nixes Tech Workers' RICO Claim Against Disney

A federal judge dismissed two lawsuits brought by technology workers who alleged that Walt Disney Company conspired with outsourcing companies when they forced the workers to train their H-1B replacements before termination. The suits alleged the defendants violated federal racketeering statutes but Florida Judge Gregory Presnell found the plaintiffs’ evidence was insufficient to sustain their claims.

Federal Judge Strikes Down ICE Immigration Detainers in Six States

A federal judge in the Northern District of Illinois voided thousands of ICE detainers requesting that deportable aliens and others be held in custody for 48 hours after their normal release to accommodate Agent pickup. The ruling increases the likelihood that aliens in at least six states will be released to the streets and disappear before they can be captured and placed in federal detention facilities.

DHS Documents Reveal How Mexico is Helping Haitians Reach the U.S. Illegally

According to internal Homeland Security documents obtained by Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.), Mexico has been granting Haitians 20-day transit documents in order to reach the U.S. border. This policy and lax immigration enforcement in the U.S. has led to a 1,800% increase in Haitians illegally crossing the border in 2016.
