Rules:
The new rules are an expansion on Reddiquette and better state the current intentions of this subreddit.
DO:
Remember the Human. You can disagree and still be civil.
Post Discussion Threads. Questions about fic writing. Articles posted with question(s). Questions seeking information about a controversial or personally disliked topic are welcome.
Post Participation Threads. Look for fics about a topic or fandom. Ask for examples on your questions.
Post fics to the appropriate Participation thread. The ‘Weekly Fic Showcase,’ ‘What Did You Post Wednesdays,’ and ‘Spotlight Sundays’ are the main venues for posting fics.
DON’T:
Fics. Fics have authors. Authors have feelings. Just no.
Fandoms. No one’s fandom is inherently bad.
Genres/Tropes. If it’s not your cup of tea, put the cup down.
Ship Wars. Now outlawed by intergalactic law.
People. Whether they’re users or far-off authors, personal attacks, ad hominem arguments, etc. are not allowed.
- No Doxxing. If information in a post can lead to finding a person IRL, it’s not allowed.
- No Witch Hunting. Got a complaint or suspicion? Take it to the Mods.
- No Trolling. Being intentionally provoking or cruel will not be tolerated.
- No Illegal Activity.
- Don't post links to Fic Archive scrapes/saves as they are a contentious subject here.
Content Restriction:
Mature or Explicit rated fics that are untagged will now be considered involuntary pornography by Reddit’s site rules and removed.
Stories must be fanfiction, not original content.
Reddit’s TOS has some wiggle-room with regard to ‘artistic works.’
- Pedophelia. (child + adult) Not allowed, against Reddit TOS, all will be removed.
- Underage. (teen + teen) Must be linked, with a clear warning, plaintext will be removed.
- Extreme or encouraged violence/rape. Must be linked, with a clear warning, plaintext will be removed.
- Troll!fics. Not allowed as an expansion on Reddiquette’s definition of Trolling, will be removed.
