Home Remodeling, Gardening, Huachuca Astronomy Club, Tuscon Macintosh Users Group, Horseback Riding, Reading Married to Alma my work-a-holic owner of several businesses and horse-breeder wife, we are empty-nesters (2 almost adult kids: 25 and 26 who still need much attention and support), I garden remodel ride read watch TV and do IP and security for Alma at her office, Alma is a "Desert-Rat" and I want to get back to the CA coastline but business and horses keep us pretty much immobilized. For fourty (40) years I was a licensed Building Contractor in three (3) different states specializing in hot-tubs & spas in Malibu for ten (10) years and remodeling homes most of the time and ten (10) years ago built our two (2) commercial mini-storage and one (1) manufactured-home retirement properties; I'm currently retired in Sierra Vista, AZ, on Social Security and Medicare and Veterans Association medical care; I work as a consultant for my wife, Alma Sanger-Hebert, in her Mini-Storage and Towing business, ustoreit at theriver dot com (she's a work-a-holic and everything is always hers: business, home, kids, etc.) as her IP and Security guy; I do extensive vegetable gardening-30 feet by 70 feet (fenced to keep out the deer, hares, rabbits, raccoons, skunks, coyotys, etc.) and feed the neighborhood and our employees; we have a mini horse ranch with twelve (12) Arabians, that my daughter, Amika Ryan Hebert (25) shows, and Alma and I ride, I finally got Alma to quit breeding as we have too many horses now; we've been planting evergreen trees, flowers, bushes, and I keep a small lawn (not very ecological here in Arizona); there are four (4) house-cats and four (4) barn-cats; we have a small pond with goldfish; in the sunroom are parrots and cockatiels; I do photography for non-profits for free and also landscape photos; I have PTSD from 1960's Viet Nam experiences that has worsened as I age so attend weekly classes at the VA that help and Alma comes with me once a month; my son, Preston Baird Hebert (26) is a CWO2 US Army Blackhawk MEDEVAC helicopter pilot, he has done a tour in Kuwait and one in Iraq and expects to go to Afghanistan next year; Amika has her MBA in hotel-management which she earned in Switzerland and is looking for suitable employment, she rides cutting show horses in Tuscon in the meantime; I drive a Volvo XC-90 and Alma and Preston each drive Ford F-250 SuperDuty Crew Cabs; Preston also drag-races his two (2) Ford Mustangs, one is a Cobra; Amika drives a Crew Cab Toyota Tundra which is big enough to haul a horse trailer with two (2) horses at a time; we are all healthy and reasonably happy; now the bodys are getting old but still service what we want to do daily.

Fitter, happier, more productive, comfortable, not drinking too much, regular exercise at the gym (3 days a week), getting on better with your associate employee contemporaries, at ease, eating well (no more microwave dinners and saturated fats), a patient better driver, a safer car (baby smiling in back seat), sleeping well (no bad dreams), no paranoia, careful to all animals (never washing spiders down the plughole), keep in contact with old friends (enjoy a drink now and then), will frequently check credit at (moral) bank (hole in the wall), favors for favors, fond but not in love, charity standing orders, on Sundays ring road supermarket (no killing moths or putting boiling water on the ants), car wash (also on Sundays), no longer afraid of the dark or midday shadows nothing so ridiculously teenage and desperate, nothing so childish - at a better pace, slower and more calculated, no chance of escape, now self-employed, concerned (but powerless), an empowered and informed member of society (pragmatism not idealism), will not cry in public, less chance of illness, tires that grip in the wet (shot of baby strapped in back seat), a good memory, still cries at a good film, still kisses with saliva, no longer empty and frantic like a cat tied to a stick, that's driven into frozen winter shit (the ability to laugh at weakness), calm, fitter, healthier and more productive a pig in a cage on antibiotics.
