There are breaking changes but we’ve tried to keep it as easy as possible to upgrade. Check out the guide here:

Yep, just drop the icons into custom components and provide them to the Select. That's the whole point of the component injection API 😀

Any suggestions for how best to handle the interim? tbh we're trying to code as if we already have suspense because our wish list looks like the umbrella issue opened

This will all be 👌 (I believe) with suspense and streaming ssr when that arrives, but we want (as a platform team) to enable patterns for use in production today that are future-compatible, and don't rely on blessed "layers" for prefetch and routing.

Question for the short term: we're working on Jira's front-end architecture at the moment, and trying to align with where this is going. Planning to have Apollo-inspired Provider/Query/State components and use tree walking to prefetch data in SSR.

🎉 I'm incredibly proud to announce we just launched react-select v2! It represents my take on how to build powerful components that "just work" out of the box, while being extremely customisable. Thanks to everyone who contributed! 🌏

👏🏻 Pro level live coding by at tonight, implementing debounce() and throttle() from scratch... and doing a great job of explaining how they work in the process. Covering function scope, closures, as differences between function vs ()=> as well!

Growing as a career engineer is about scaling beyond yourself and keeping your skills up-to-date. That's about people. Networks and influence allows small seed ideas to propagate in an org. The same networks feed new knowledge back. Open source is such a powerful tool for this.

"Solved problems need constrained APIs. Unsolved problems need unconstrained APIs." Paraphrasing . This really resonates with how I think about framework design. With time you learn a bit more about the right way of doing things, but constraining too early is fatal.

😍 Wow, just realised that the big, friendly search field welcoming visitors to is actually react-select! (it's heavily customised, but still has a certain "feel" to it that made me curious enough to open dev tools and take a look!)

Every one of the following conditions creates a new stacking context, which will "trap" your `z-index` to that container:
