Testimonials
The instructions from this guide are referring to the WP Admin dashboard. You can get to this dashboard by adding /wp-admin to the end of your site’s url (e.g.: example.wordpress.com/wp-admin)
You can enable a unique Testimonial content type to help organize your testimonial in a special section of your WP Admin dashboard.
You can do this in two simple steps:
- In your site’s dashboard, go to Settings → Writing → Your Custom Content Types and make sure the “Testimonials” option is checked.
- Add testimonials under the new Testimonials menu item in your sidebar.
After you’ve added some testimonials, they’ll be visible on your website by visiting yourgroovysite.wordpress.com/testimonial/.
Detailed Setup
If you’re hoping to use your site to share testimonials separate from your blog posts and pages, the Testimonial content type will let you easily manage all your testimonial in one place. It also gives you a number of different ways to display them on your site.
Activating the Testimonial Content Type
To add the Testimonial menu item to your dashboard, you’ll first need to activate it on your site. Although some themes will do this for you automatically, you can do it in any theme by going to Settings → Writing → Your Custom Content Types and checking the “Testimonials” option.
While you’re here, you can also specify the maximum number of testimonials you want your site to display on testimonial archive pages and templates in the field just below the Testimonials checkbox. This setting is separate from the number of posts you want to display on your blog or in your RSS feed.
After you’ve enabled testimonial support, make sure to save your changes at the bottom of the page.
Adding and Managing Testimonials
After the Testimonial content type has been activated on your site, you can manage your testimonials under the new Testimonial menu item in the sidebar.
Similar to the way you add new posts, you can add a new testimonial under Testimonials → Add New. Testimonials are ordered by the date they’re created, with the most recent testimonial displayed first. You may add a Featured Image to each testimonial which will act as an author image.
Viewing Testimonials
There are a few different ways to view your testimonials after they’ve been created.
The following links are created once you add testimonials. Be sure to swap the words in bold with your real site address and the appropriate slug. For example, if a testimonial title (which acts as the author) is Oprah, your default slug will be oprah and your address for the single testimonial by Oprah will be yourgroovysite.wordpress.com/testimonial/oprah/.

Troubleshooting
If any of the Testimonial page links result in a “Page Not Found” error, this can be easily fixed by disabling and re-enabling the Testimonial content type. Go to Settings → Writing → Your Custom Content Types, uncheck the Testimonials option, save your changes, and then re-check the Testimonials option and save your changes again.
