SoCAS is integral to BCIT
Every year School of Computing and Academic Studies (SoCAS) delivers curriculum to thousands of BCIT students. Our courses are developed with subject matter experts to meet individual program areas needs and student success in industry.
Each term SoCAS also provides over 250 unique courses and offers 40 different credential programs from certificates to degrees, both full-time and part-time in the following areas:
- BCIT Computing provides 30 different applied programs including certificates, diplomas and degrees. Our options include: full time, fast-track HTP and part time PTS delivery with hundreds of courses every year.
We are the largest Computing and IT program in western Canada with over 10,000 individual course registrations every year.
- BCIT Forensic Science & Technology offers advanced certificates and a degree, as well as courses in: forensic science, computer crimes, intelligence analysis, forensic health science and forensic video analysis.
- BCIT Academic Studies provides over 100 courses every term to students across BCIT in the following areas:
English Communication courses help to prepare students for career success. We offer Professional English Language Development (PELD) and an Associate Certificate in Technical Writing.
Liberal Studies courses enhance critical thinking, analytical and technical writing abilities.
Basic Health Sciences, Chemistry, Math, and Physics.
Technology Entry (TE) is a full-time statement of completion which provides preparation or the prerequisites needed to enter technology programs across BCIT.
