Humm, there seems to have been quite a few of us on that train last Monday leaving identical bags behind -see my email from customer services. Some corner of the universe must have a very big pile of them, presumably next to all the odd socks that ever existed. Still, at least they now admit the train exists. Progress!
Thanks for your correspondence received on 8 June 2015. I’m sorry to hear that you have lost your Green Fortrum & Mason bag whilst travelling with us.
I would advise you to try again as we cannot chase up property due to liability of the property.
Any lost property that is found on board our services, by either a member of the public or our cleaning team is taken off at the terminating station. As your train terminated at Leeds you may want to call their lost property team to see if your Green Fortrum & Mason bag has been handed in. (Please note that we only keep items of lost property for 3 months.)
I do hope you are successful in finding your belongings and we of course look forward to welcoming you on board in the near future.
Update End of the line. So nobody handed in my shopping bag (containing two tins of tea and a tax office letter) to Leeds Station lost property desk. Whoever has it, enjoy the tea, and feel free to pay the tax...

Virgin East Coast Trains Lost Property division: Did you leave the item at a station or a train? Me: Train. VECTLPD: Which train? Me: Today's 16.06 Kings Cross to Leeds, I got off at Peterborough and left my bag behind. VECTLPD: That's not our train. Me: Yes it is, I was on it. VECTLPD: It's not on my system, none of our trains go to Leeds. Me: Yes they do, I was on it. VECTLPD: You need to call the National Rail Enquiry line, they'll be able to tell you who operated the train you were on. Me: That's what your colleague told me to do when I called you five minutes ago. So I did. They said it's your train. VECTLPD: It's not on my system. Me: Well how do I find out if anyone has found my bag? VECTLPD: All lost property is handed in to the station the train terminates at. Me: Great, can you give me the number for Leeds Station lost property office? VECTLPD: No. Our trains don't go to Leeds, so that number isn't on my system.

Was supposed to post this at the start of the month. Nobody tell my publisher, they're not used to authors being late with things.

You wait for ages for an award, and then two come along in one week. My thanks to the awards committee of the Grand Prix de l'Imaginaire for this honour. http://gpi.noosfere.org/2015.php

Well here's a thing. Today was the day Lancashire School Library Service made the official announcement about the Fantastic Book Awards, and yours truly was one of the recipients. Completely unexpected, and all the more enjoyable for that. Thank you Lancashire.

I'm going to be at the Geneva Book Fair this weekend (1,2&3 May), and can be found at the Bragelonne stand (A170) for several hours each day, if you want to bring books for signing or just to say hello.

Now that's what I call a Supanova! Back home after a 23 hour flight, and now falling asleep in the early evening which the kids find hilarious. I had an amazing time -from the big fun Aussie authors that I hung out with, and the awesome welcome I got from all my readers, to my long suffering publicist, Alex, who is now an expert on every smartphone camera in existence (just how many selfies with me are out there now?). The Sydney evening event overran by an hour because the queue for signing was so long! Thank you all so much for making me feel welcome. I promise it won't be 16 (yes really!, my last book tour down under was in 1999) years until I'm back out there again. Biggest thanks of all goes to Daniel and Ineke from Supanova who invited me out there, and looked after me so well. So if you ever get the opportunity to go to a Supanova: just say yes. Its where you can meet the very best people.

Some people (such as "Dave" in the guestbook) noticed that Pandora's star was pulled from Audible, and wondered why this happened. It turns out that there have been some complaints about the sound quality of that recording. For that reason, the book was temporarily removed from the Audible store until the engineers have fixed this.
