That Huge The Vampire Diaries Twist Was a Complete Game Changer
27 minutes ago
For the past eight seasons, The Vampire Diaries has been full of twists, but Friday night's episode might have been the most shocking. As Cade manages to make his way to Mystic Falls, all hell breaks lose (pun intended). To up the ante with his servants, Stefan and Damon, he gives them an ultimatum: kill your brother's girl or kill 100 strangers. The choice seems pretty simple for Damon as he would never break up Steroline, but unfortunately for humanity-less Stefan, that isn't the case. Yes, that's right, Stefan is going to kill Elena! Unwillingly, Bonnie agrees to help Damon and the rest of the gang kill the devil by taking a vile of Elena's blood so that they can inject him with the cure. It sounds like a safe-proof plan, but just you wait. While Damon thinks Elena's coffin is still tucked away in a warehouse in Brooklyn, Stefan knows »

The Parents on A Series of Unfortunate Events Are Not Who You Think They Are
20 hours ago
Warning: spoilers for the entire season below! Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events premiered on Friday the 13th (apt, don't you think?) in January, and there's a lot to love. Neil Patrick Harris gives an inspired performance as the show's greasy villain, Count Olaf, and newcomers Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes (who play Violet and Klaus Baudelaire) are a delight. At the end of the first episode, we also get a pleasant surprise in the form of two unexpected guest stars: Will Arnett and Cobie Smulders, who play a mother and a father. Now, it's very easy to assume that these are the Baudelaire parents. Once you get to the end of episode seven, you'll learn that's sadly not the case. Let's recap. Episode one starts off with the brilliant Baudelaire children being informed that they're orphans now after their mansion burns down, with their doting mother and father - »

The Trump Administration Is Causing an Unstoppable Ripple Through Hollywood
21 hours ago
By now, it's no secret that Hollywood has given award season a political tint. We're got some of the biggest ceremonies of the industry under our belt (with the Oscars still on the horizon, of course), and it seems like every show is more political than the last. It should also come as no surprise that the primary impetus for the movement comes from the election of President Donald Trump and the avalanche of worrying executive orders that accompanied his first couple of weeks in office. The real question is, what triggered this swell of political commentary in the first place? It might just have been the very moment that Trump became president-elect that guaranteed this kind of Hollywood blowback. After all, celebrities began opposing Donald Trump directly after the election and well ahead of award season. It is possible, though, that award season offered the perfect platform to speak out at the perfect time. »

Watch Mariah Carey's New Breakup Video, Inspired by Her Split From James Packer

It's always sad when a couple ends their engagement, but if you're a legendary artist, sometimes the pain leads to your best work. Mariah Carey and James Packer called off their engagement in October, and Carey has channeled her grief into a new song, titled "I Don't." (Because brides say, "I do" - get it?) Though Carey has said "everything happens for a reason" in regard to the breakup, it's clear she's still working through her feelings. Take a look! »

Emilia Clarke's Latest Instagram Will Change How You See Daenerys
3 February 2017 2:10 PM, PST
Image Source: HBO Emilia Clarke posted a video on Instagram on Friday, and there are several things we need to address. First, her caption begins, "That feeling when at last you're a day away from wrapping season seven." The new season of Game of Thrones is basically done! Secondly, her caption continued, "I Believe This Ones Gonna Be A Mind Blower... " Ok, I wish that was more descriptive, but that's fine, especially when the rest of the cast has given us so many good quotes to think about. Once you get past the caption, there's the actual video. You guys: Daenerys Targaryen is an R. Kelly fan. I assume she chose the song because her character literally does fly on the backs of dragons, but still. Hilarious. Why is this cast so awesome? That feeling when at last you're a day away from wrapping season 7. I Believe This Ones Gonna Be A Mind Blower. »

Taylor Swift's Acoustic Version of "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" Will Remind You of Her Earlier Stuff
3 February 2017 1:37 PM, PST
Taylor Swift went back to her roots when she rehearsed her Fifty Shades Darker track, "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" in the studio. The singer recently took her pop hit down a few notches by performing it acoustically. Not only does the video remind us just how talented she is (those guitar-playing skills), but the tune is extremely reminiscent of her Fearless album. Coincidentally, Zayn also posted an acoustic version of the song on YouTube. Is it possible that these two are gearing up to perform their duet during Swift's pre-Super Bowl concert? We sure hope so. Zayn's Acoustic Version of "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" Might Be Better Than the Original
3 February 2017 11:30 AM, PST
If you love "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," but you think it would be better slowed down and without Taylor Swift, then great news! Zayn Malik has released an acoustic version of the track, which was created for Fifty Shades Darker. He teased the video via Twitter on Thursday, telling his fans, "Hey, here's a lil something." Indeed, Zayn. Coincidentally, Taylor Swift also uploaded a video of herself practicing the song for her gig performing at the Super Bowl pre-show. Which one is better? You decide. Robin Hood Is Already the Best Part of Once Upon a Time's Midseason Premiere
3 February 2017 10:45 AM, PST
Once Upon a Time returns in nearly a month, and we already have a sweet glimpse of what's to come. Now that Emma and Regina are stuck in the Wish Realm, they are bound to run into a few familiar faces - and the nostalgia is almost too much for us to handle. Not only does August Booth (aka Pinocchio) make a special appearance, but everyone's favorite bandit, Robin Hood, is also back in action and looking as gorgeous as ever. Here's hoping the gang can find a way to bring him back to Storybrooke, because we definitely aren't over his untimely death from last season. While Regina is reuniting with her true love, Belle and Rumple are having a family reunion of their own as their son Gideon returns to cause chaos (and potentially kill Emma). Relish all the magical moments ahead! Related:9 Things That Will Happen When Once »

Mark Wahlberg Is Back in the Transformers: The Last Knight Trailer
3 February 2017 10:40 AM, PST
It's hard to believe, but we've already made it to the fifth Transformers movie. Transformers: The Last Knight is set for a June 23 release, almost exactly one decade from the premiere of the first film in the action series. Michael Bay is behind the camera again, because he can't stop, won't stop, and will literally never stop making these movies. Mark Wahlberg, star of 2014's Age of Extinction, is returning as Cade Yeager (best name ever?), and we actually get to see Anthony Hopkins in the latest teaser, set to air during the Super Bowl. The original trailer (below) is pretty dark - the cover of Flaming Lips "Do You Realize" may have something to do with it - and the end may or may not feature a snippet of a fight between Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. The Insane Connection Between Split and M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable
3 February 2017 9:40 AM, PST
Warning: Spoilers below! Split is M. Night Shyamalan's latest horror-thriller, and if you've seen the movie, you undoubtedly have some questions about the ending. I'm not talking about how the actual story concludes - I'm talking about the last minute or so, when we get an unexpected cameo. We see Shyamalan earlier in the film, but this appearance is even better. The movie has all but concluded when we see patrons of a diner fixated on a news broadcast. Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy) has been found and the reporter is talking about the case, saying that outlets have already started calling the killer by a nickname: The Hoard, due to his many personalities. A woman at the counter says, "That guy who got locked up 15 years ago, they gave him a funny name too." The camera pans down the counter to a man dressed in a jumpsuit with a tag marked "Dunn. »

Billy Crystal and Daniel Stern Just Gave Us the Gift of a Westworld/City Slickers Parody
3 February 2017 9:05 AM, PST
Have you ever noticed how alike the plots are for City Slickers and Westworld? I mean, sure, there are no robot "hosts" in City Slickers, and the 1991 comedy has a lot less death, nudity, and violence, but at their cores, both films are about people trying to escape their daily lives by experiencing the Wild West. Billy Crystal and Daniel Stern teamed up with Funny or Die to bring the show and the film together, and it's pretty funny, especially if you are old enough to, you know, have seen City Slickers.
