A quick, light fun urban fantasy read. Apparently this series is the basis for True Blood. As I don't really watch TV this doesn't mean anything to me! Will definitely continue intermittently and see how the series pans out.

The TV show is pretty different, especially beyond the first book.

I read most of this series, Emma. (I stopped after, I think, book 11.) I thought it was good for its genre and charming in its way. As Justine said, the show is very different. I personally was disappointed by the changes, but clearly not everyone was since the show had a good run.
I can't quite put my finger on what I enjoyed so much in this book but I can imagine TV mucking it up! I think I will stick with the books!
