lynne naranek You mirror my thoughts :-) I just got done with this book, and while I like the premise of vampires being grudgingly accepted into American culture, the unlikely naiveté of Sookie was real annoying real fast. Among many flaws.

Vampire Lady Yeah. I had to stop myself from ranting too much when I wrote that. And then I talk to friends of mine who enjoyed the book, and I ask them why and how, and they don't have answers for me. It's like they lost their brain and don't know how to get it back. Ugh, I really hate this book.

Angela what books can you suggest for some one to read?

Vampire Lady Keri Arthur's Riley Jenson series is awesome. The main character, Riley, is half vampire and half werewolf. Really well written.

Patricia Briggs' Mercedes Thompson series is really good, too. It's more werewolves than vampires as the main character is a coyote shapeshifter.

Kerrelyn Sparks' Love at Stake series is awesome. I read those books so fast and enjoyed them immensely. The majority of the vampires are Scottish Highlanders. The series is a wonderful blend of action, romance, and humor.

If you like young adult books, Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series is really good. As as P.C. and Kristen Cast's House of Night series.

Vampire Lady I love JR Ward's BDBh series. The entire vampire world she has created, along with the lessers, is just awesome.

Megan Gallmeyer You took the words right out of my mouth. Sam is by far my favorite. I honestly had to force myself to finish it....I typically love vampire romances but goodness gracious not this one....I am stepping away from the series and don't know if I'll ever go back. Part of me wants to not give up just yet...but geeze, I don't know.

J.N. Yep, Sam and her grandmother were the only characters I liked.
