I started reading your review, having not read the book and while I liked what I saw, you should really mark this as having spoilers in it.
Sorry, I thought it was vague enough, but I understand that different people have different definitions of what constitutes spoilery.
"Sopoiler warning"
the reason being that your two fav. characters on the show aren't hardly in the book is because the books came out first and they weren't main characters in the series.
Not saying they shouldn't be, but books and movies are never the same.
You have to appeal to a differant group of people.
I loved the books, but didn't care for the show because they added things that never happend, and changed how some people acted.
I didn't care for Lafayette being a drug dealer.
I really liked him and I thought it didn't do his story justice.
"And then Kurt Cobain and Jimmy Hoffa will show up to hang out with Vampire Elvis."
This made me laugh. xD
Someone at my book group raved about this series last night. Now I wonder if I need to find a new book group?
Find a new book group! PS I didn't think those things were spoilers at all. They're just facts of the story which the main character knew before the story started, not revealing anything vital.
Trin-
Alas! A book that does not top the show! I think I will give up on the show after this 3rd season though, it's a tad bit drama-rama for me anymore, and not enough action with feeling, if you know what I mean.
Hah-hah, yeah. Sook and Billy are dreadfully dull. How can Harris sleep at night??
the books were written well before HBO picked it up as a show. also written before the twilight movies. so the show doesnt stay true to the book, not the other way around.
