Today we offer a very special book as a free download: the Kamasutra in pdf format! Who doesn’t know this world famous book of love written by Vātsyāyana in ancient times? The book, originally written in Sanskrit, is considered as the ‘de facto’ work on love and human relationships.
The book is definitely considered as one of the first about this subject, being written somewhere between 400BC and 200CE. Vātsyāyana, the author, was an Hindu philosopher from India. There’s not much known about him, adding only to the mystery around his person.
The free Kamasutra PDF version that we offer you today is not the original one however. It’s the 1883 English translation of the book by Sir Richard Burton, the famous British explorer and writer. The book has been public domain for a long time. So you don’t have to worry about any copyright infringements. Besides the original translation, the pdf comes with some very interesting background information about the history of the Kama Sutra, about Vātsyāyana and about Richard Burton, the original translator. All in all, the book counts 129 pages and it’s definitely an interesting read! Although we have to admit that it was on unusual choice for today’s free book post.
