Okay so good news, Carve The Mark is finally here. If you’re anything like us you have been anticipating the release of Carve The Mark for like…..ever. You’ve countdown down with us, taken every Carve the Mark quiz possible, and even perfected those tricky name pronunciations. So question, now that it’s here…. what do we do???? We throw a reading party. Obv.
Stick with us to find out how to throw the most *epic* Carve the Mark reading party this universe has ever seen.

How To Throw a Carve The Mark Reading Party
Step 1: Buy Carve The Mark

It’s pretty much guaranteed that the bookstore is going to be cray because well you know… it’s 1.17.17 (Carve the Mark day). But be strong book nerds, go get ’em! You won’t regret this one.
Step 2: Squad up

For your reading party you’re going to want to make sure you have your book nerd crew ready to go. You’ll probably all be freaking out over Carve the Mark but ORGANIZE! Set a time and a place, and please do not be late. Chances are your buds aren’t planning to wait for you to read the sweet, sweet words of Veronica Roth.
Step 3: Set Up Your Space

You’re going to want decorations… lots and lots of decorations to deal with your Carve The Mark emotions. If you want some inspiration from Veronica Roth herself, you can check out her very own writing space right here! Her journey to write carve the mark was literally fabulous and her writing space made us *so* jealous of her perfection. We are going to decorate our reading party to look exactly like Veronica Roth’s home office but hey, if you wanna go with a space/gold thang, do you.
Step 4: Make These Space Recipes

Because Carve The Mark is set in outer space, before you do anything else you’re going to want to prepare for your night with these scrumptious space recipes. You’re welcome.
Step 5: Determine Your Currentgift!

While you wait for these treats to cook, we think it only makes sense to prep yourself for the (so)journey you’re about to embark on by reading Carve The Mark. Take this What’s Your Current Gift quiz with all your friends to find out what your special current-given gift would be in the world of Carve the Mark. Everybody’s doing it.
Step 6: Do Your Homework

Okay not your real homework who do you think we are? (JK please don’t tell your parents we said that.) But what we mean is do your Carve The Mark homework! Here’s everything you need to know about Carve The Mark before you read it! Plus meet Cyra, Akos, and Ryzek, some of our faves from the book!
Step 7: Read, Read, Read
Having a reading party with @whittynovels! Reading Carve the Mark out loud to each other since we both have ARCs!
— Sasha Alsberg (@sashaalsberg) October 30, 2016
Okay, it’s officially time to read. We highly suggest you take notes from Sasha Alsberg and read aloud with your book nerd bestie. You guys should probably alternate chapters, one of you can read Cyra and the other can read Akos! You also might want to listen to Carve the Mark with Austin Butler as Akos and Emily Rankin as Cyra. If you’re an audio book nerd then grab the Carve The Mark audiobook here!
OKAY! GO FORTH AND THROW YOUR *EPIC* CARVE THE MARK READING PARTY! You’re ready.
