A few months ago Adam was complaining that he didn’t have a proper way to transport his knives from home to the studio and across the country when he works. He found tons of nylon plasticky commercial generic knife rolls out there but if you know him personally you know that a) he requires durability and b) he’s got a bit of fancy-pants niceness to him! He likes good stuff. He was thrilled when he found Steve from Leather-Worker.com online and ordered his custom handmade leather knife roll. It wasn’t as cheap as the nylon versions out there but it was very affordable for the craftsmanship put into it. And it’s gorrrrrgeous. When it arrived I asked Adam if I could snap some photos of it to send to Steve and perhaps get the word out about this beautiful product. So there you have it!
I also figured now would be a great time to post about it since it’s the middle of summer and you’ll have plenty of time to order one before the holidays. Steve’s made a few for some very famous chefs and I think anyone with a knife collection would be happy to carry them in this beautiful roll, wouldn’t you? You can visit him at Leather Worker and tell him Matt sent ya!
Fine Print: Nope, not a paid advertisement, this post. We purchased the roll, I photographed it for free and sent the images to Steve to have them because I love helping artists out! There you have it!

This is beautiful. I want it. As always, I’m oggling whatever you post!
that’s a knife roll I would want. I have been using a repurposed painter’s brush roll for years… think I will make my own…
Gorgeous piece of craftsmanship. I think even Dexter would love it!
Omg that knife roll is BEAUTIFUL!
I have a similar roll for all my makeup brushes because you never know when you’re going to need 17 brushes that are almost identical to put on lower lash liner and it keeps them organized 🙂
Not that I have a reason to transport knives but seriously, I may find one….just to get that roll!
Wow! I would LOVE something like that! I have gone through many cases in my 20+ years innthe kitchen, but that one tops it! Will he send some work to Canada? I have a few people that would be keen to get their hands on that!
Rolling in style!
Nice.
Such a beautiful roll! So elegant
Makes me wish I were in a kitchen again to be able to have something so nice. I’d like the roll and contents please.
So when I first looked at this website I thought it was about recipes, but increasingly it just seems to be devoted to endorsements….
so cool – thanks for sharing!
it is wonderfull. i find your blog now and in first post i like it. i want to be chef in future and i think it will be so hard 🙁 thanks. im starting to read your blog now
This reminds me of Dexter! Which worries me because those knives have a (hopefully!) very different use… 🙂
Simply elegant. I wouldn’t mind one.
OH MY GOD that’s beautiful.
It would fit perfect in Adam’s LV.
!
That is SO beautiful … makes for a perfect gift!!
A beauty and a keeper! Very considerate of you to promote them for free, nice gesture…..
I’m questioning myself: what I should envy more? The knife roll or all these Global knifes. Better: both!
Oh I am dying. I must have one. I have carried the usual industrial styles for years and my everyday rolls zipper just broke, not to mention they are nothing but utilitarian, and have no class. Those are gorgeous! Good for Adam! I will go to the website immediately. Thanks Matt and Adam. So fun! Hugs to you both.
Although I have no reason to transport knives, that is an absolutely beautiful knife roll . . . but even more than that, that is an absolutely beautiful blog entry about appreciating something that is handcrafted and the work that goes into a piece such as that. I really believe that those of us who create things — whether in the kitchen, a studio, or a workshop — have an appreciation for others who do the same. Thank you for sharing this on your blog!
– – – and although I don’t need a kniferoll, I’ll take a look at Steve’s website to see what there is there that I DO need! 😉
Hi Kate, since I began my blog in 2005 I’ve always endorsed and written about the things I love most. I’m not really a recipe blogger per se. Thanks so much!
This is such a treat! Adam deserves such a fine roll and how awesome for you to promote Steve’s amazing talents. The metal grommets on that thing are spectacular.
Now I need the knives and the roll.
I am just wondering where in the world I will take them…. xxoo
Oh lord…give me! 🙂
Beautiful knife roll. It looks like it’s well worth the money.
Hy cool man.. Sharp Knives
I bought one of these. The quality is great and it’s much cheaper than the one listed here.
