Even if we were, that's not worth it. You don't get to consume art if you demand suffering for its creation.

Artists aren't machines that you torture until art falls out.

So yeah, anyone saying I should just buck up and "get a real job" is no longer allowed to consume art of any kind ever again.

Not that I'm literally starving, but damn if every week isn't a complete mystery on how I'm gonna scrape by.

I'm tired of hearing "If you didn't want to be starving, you shouldn't have become an artist." I work 50 hrs a week. Why can't I eat?

If you think artists deserve to starve, you don't deserve the fruits of our labors. Enjoy wearing the same shapeless tunic every day.

I think anyone who says artists should get "real jobs" should immediately be banned from listening to music, reading books, watching movies
