    Maybe obvious but, The Power. My reactions made me question myself, totally unexpectedly. It’s a swift punch to the gut of the patriarchy and I hope will continue to shock until society permanently improves its treatment of women.

    The Chocolate Bar Book. 8-year-old boy wrote a book to help raise money for his friend to get better. Book sold thousands of copies worldwide and raised >$1 million. Crowdfunding allows small voices to be heard.

    Women and Power by Mary Beard. Reading about women's struggle to find their voice through historical, artistic and literary examples was incredibly inspiring!

    And I will carry on in a constructive way until it changes, but we all need to play a part. Changing the way we talk about experience and not using it as a job requirement for entry-level roles is a start.

    I think the current range of essay collections provide a vital method of getting a variety of diverse voices together on one topic. I absolutely loved The Good Immigrant which I felt strongly tackled some of the awful stereotypes in the world today

    Q6 Valeria Luiselli’s Tell Me When It Ends, about volunteering as a translator for unaccompanied migrant children entering the US. It tells us a lot about humanity and political cruelty. I think *everyone* should read it.

    In my opinion, crowdfunding campaigns are the methods that are increasing diversity in publishing the most, which is great. It also shows traditional publishers that there is a market for diverse stories.

    Oh ... and hire and promote talented POC's, members of LGBTQ+ communities, and frigging working class people. Give us a hand. Give us a leg up. Give us a CHANCE. Please.

    Social media has been paramount of late in the fight against structural inequalities such as unpaid internships, which are unintentionally discriminatory. and are all doing their bit in calling ppl out in a friendly way. Do ur bit!
