    📲 This is what Apple's first Unicode-compatible emoji font looked like. Released in 2012 as part of iOS 5.1, it's just one of a long line of emoji releases in the Emojipedia archives

    Some show both protruding, some neither. Some look like all-metal craftspeople or DIY tools rather than miners’ tools. Google changed from right handed to left handed recently. EmojiOne had two different hammers for a while. Facebook’s pick/chisel is too bend to be used struck

    Hmm. Looks like nobody is doing ⚒ quite right. Traditionally the pick’s handle is protruding from the chisel/pick and the hammer’s handle is *not*.

    📯 U+1F4EF POSTAL HORN was approved in 2010. This horn was used in the 18th and 19th centuries to indicate that a mail coach was arriving to deliver the 📬 mail. When the horn was blown, people would have to get out of the way, sort of like a siren today
