I don't know if this is actually real but if it is the Resident Evil 2 Remake supporting the VR system means the game is done FPS.

That was when Shinji Mikami was still around. He showed all that passion for it, since the first RE was his first and most important project that back then, he couldn't bring to life like he had envisioned.
With Gamecube, he finally did.

Ever since his departure, Resident Evil lost its main creative core and passion.

Think about it; RE4 and RE5 are not that different from one another, yet RE4 is considered a masterpiece while RE5 is not.
Why is that?

From my perspective, it comes down to lack of balance and energy.

RE4 was an action horror game, yes but it was balanced with a great atmosphere, locations, enemies and such.
It was essentially a B movie made into a game and to an extent it was aware of what it was. It didn't take itself too seriously.
Hence there was a delicate balance between the more serious aspects, high pace action, corny dialogue and atmospheric horror.

You could feel the energy the team and Shinji Mikami were putting into it, and gave you the thrill to keep playing it over and over.

But RE5... that balance was wrecked;
It was nothing but action, horror aspects were completely gone, enemies were mostly dull and locations were uninteresting.

Not to mention it took itself drop dead seriously; that was it's biggest mistake. The story was once again a B movie but took itself seriously and tried to make it as dark as possible, draining any and all energy from playing it.

There are no two ways about it; Shinji Mikamis departure crippled the franchise that to this day it has not recovered from.
And now this same crippled entity is trying to bring us a remake of arguably the series most important milestone title.

See why i have very little faith in Capcom treating its classics with care?

Matthew Webster: +Eero Kukko I say they did fine after he left since RE:R felt like a classic RE title just underrated. RE4 was the first to what it did so everyone looks at it like it's different from RE5 and the other action horror titles when its really the same. RE7 is the only title so far I have not liked at all, and I think RE2 will follow the remake of revelations style.

Thomas Vincent Kennedy (ラスト・アクションゲーマー): +Matthew Webster Hopefully. I genuinely despise RE7, if they even remotely base this remake off of that pile of shit I’m done with any future games. I’ll be content with the first 6 games and some of the spinoffs and side story games.
