Oh, please. Not this again.
This list is an absurdity to prior generations. We sought jobs. Period. Flats. Period. A relationship (singular). Period.
There was no worrying about whether any of this fed our passions or suited our desired "lifestyle" during the social or economic turmoil that accompanied the first and second Iraq Wars, the Vietnam War, The Korean War, WWII, etc.
And forget "affordable". For fresh grads or equivalent, there's never been any such thing. At least, not in any popular city. Manhattan, SF, London have ALWAYS been notoriously out of reach. This is not new.
Life's always been hard for the young and inexperienced. Yet, some still manage to thrive and most survive.
The fact is, except for debt and CO2 levels, life has never been better: it has never been easier to find a job, flat or date. The comfort this author has in whining about this is proof life is pretty good right now.
