But if you or any of the producers or researchers find this comment, could you please spare it a bit of time, as I would like to suggest a topic of discussion for your show. Censorship is everywhere at the moment... Facebook, Twitter and even Youtube. If you weren't so famous and had such a following I imagine that you'd likely be shut down like other channels for commenting on some of the topics you do or having some of the stances you do. Freedom of speech is a human right, yet it's now being disregarded by companies and websites left, right and centre. Even some college campuses have 'safe space' policies and guest speakers are being cancelled. Freedom of speech is being eroded at a scary and alarming rate at the moment. Really I feel that if we don't address these problems now and try to cause some sort of change against this trend of censorship, we could end up living in a society where everyone is at risk of being silenced. So please, O mighty Megareverend of Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption Church, please John Oliver, could you cover this topic if you can?

Dear John Oliver, I'll have you know that i spend more time watching your show at work than actually doing work. I also wanted to let you know that you can scare and freak me out about this insane world we live in, while also make me laugh so hard i nearly split my coffee on my desk. You are genuinely a good person (considering I never met you, I'm just going to assume for the best) your passion for the stories you cover is such an inspiration to me. you send out a message of "how not to be an asshole 101" we need more people in the world like you! People that feel strongly about something and take charge to do complete research so they can learn how to form an opinion (while occasionally insulting the existence of cadbury eggs) The reason why I enjoy your show as much as I do, is because I have dedicated my life to becoming a better, volunteering, doing community outreach, and just basically not being an asshole. you talk about topics that you feel strongly about; but you dont just only do that; you talk about solutions! youre not just another late night night tv guy making fun of politics! your a late night tv guy that says "hmmm this guy is being a douche, these are the douchey things he is dong" and "hey docuhe! this is how you can fix that" and your solutions are not half bad. Dear John: I sent hte following letter to my Colorado Representative DeGette and Se. Bennet inspired by your piece on gun violence. The mass shootings in our state should make CO a legislative focal point on the issue of gun violence and the need for common sense gun legislation. Yet, neither you or Sen. Bennet have the topic as a priority. In fact, I could not even select gun legislation or gun violence as a topic when writing this message to Sen. Bennet. How many more Columbines, Arapahoe High School and Aurora mass shooting must occur before our Congressman and Congresswoman decide they cannot morally accept the mass killings of CO citizens as status quo. I don't expect you to move the Rocky Mountains. Start with a small step and get the Dickey amendment repealed. Since it passed in 1996, funding for CDC studies on guns have dropped by 96 percent. Without quantification of the issues it is virtually impossible to win a debate on the need for common sense gun control. Republicans supported by NRA know this and will continue to fight on the morally wrong and factually absent side of this pressing issue. The majority of Americans and gun owners want their political leaders to move in a new direction and start solving the problem. It's time to take a stand and start the process with one step even if it means defeat after defeat until our safety is assured. Please tell me you have a plan reduce the probability of another mass killing in CO. Please tell me you are willing to stand up to the morally vacuous position of the Republicans and the NRA. Please tell me all those deaths can be giving meaning in supporting change.
