I'm teaching a class of freshman bio students and I don't understand what's cool with that age group well enough to know how to embarrass them.

Like when I was in this class it would have been an instructor trying to do rap lyrics. In the 90s it would be adopting slang like "radical."

Basically I want to pull the "old person trying too hard to fit in with young people," gag but at 31 I'm too old to figure out youth culture.

I went to a festival that was 18+ and I’m 24 years old. When I got carded at the door, three different people checked my ID and then a cop came over and checked my ID and pulled me to the side and told me to fess up or I would go to jail. I held my ground, knowing my ID was real, and said that he can do whatever he wants to verify my ID/age. He called some number on his phone and verified my ID was in fact accurate and apologized for the confusion. I asked what was wrong with the ID and all he really said was that, “the lettering was off”.

My question is, how did my ID become fake all of a sudden? I’ve used the same ID to get into bars and previous 18+ events and never had a problem. I’ve even been pulled over twice before where police never questioned my ID. Do IDs wear out over time? I’m going to get a new ID here so I guess it doesn’t matter but, I’m just curious as to what happened.

EDIT: Just want to say how happy I am that everyone knows this is for Gold Rush. Love the community.

I have no idea where to post this question, but this seemed as good a place as any...

I was heading out to the grocery store last night, and while I was walking to my car I caught my downstairs neighbor pissing on my car. He got it all over the door, and some even managed to get on the window. I was so flabbergasted and disgusted when I turned the corner only to find him in the middle of the act, with his sad little flaccid prick in his hand, that I didn't say or do anything. Now that everything has processed, I feel really violated and angry.

I don't know them at all, so my main concern is if I will be putting my safety at risk by asking him to kindly refrain from relieving himself on my property in the future. I'm also just unsure if a reaction is appropriate... I'm so confused. Why not pee on your own car? It was closer to his location than mine anyway... wtf?

To clear up any confusion-

Me: small, flaccid muscled lady. Afraid of creepy men who do things like pee on cars.

Neighbor: large, intimidating man who could easily break me in half if he felt so inclined.

Are there any rules/laws that prohibit using the same name as hugely popular musicians? Perhaps to avoid unfair marketing advantage due to sharing the name of an iconic star? I know there are probably quite a few different musicians who share the same name but in different musical genres and what not. Just wondering what the case is for a household name like MJ's.

I really want to go to sleep and i need to take a shower first cuz im dirty as fuck, but the problem is that there is a thunder/lightning storm going on outside. I just checked the weather online and it seems like its going to storm all fucking night. I have always had it drilled to me not to shower in a thunderstorm because it could electrocute me. Its currently super late into the night and im worried that if i go have a shower and get struck, im gunna be that one neighborhood idiot that took a shower at 3 am resulting in me getting fucking killed. What the fuck should i do???

I have a fever of 101 and just dreamt I was sailing in an ocean in a boat made of money, the ocean turned into an egg which a chicken then ate. Why?

To preface, I don't want this to be hugely political or partisan and would love an objective answer if possible.

It's often brought up that Clinton is hugely corrupt and ridden with scandal. Suffice things like the email scandal and lightly touching on Clinton Foundation things, I never hear any highly specific details of her wrongdoing.

So, again hoping to not elicit a dumpster-fire of political silliness, I'd love a more detailed explanation of why so many hold these views of Clinton. Extra points if you can get into the Clinton family being so corrupt in general as well!

Thank you!

Does the National Park Service have a criminal investigative department or would it be handled by, for instance, the FBI?

I am not sure what kind of child Barron Trump is, and whether he considers himself a gamer or not (probably not, but again, I don't know much about him). But let's say the child of a theoretical US president wanted to play a normal online video game (with voice chat, text chats, and everything else that makes an online game, well, an online game), would the Secret Service allow that? If they would, what knids of security measures do you think would be placed?

I hear it all the time, but it has no significance to me because I have a terrible understanding of the systems of law.

I just woke up from a 5hr nap, and I've got a headache and I'm still tired, but this morning when I woke up I felt fine. Why is that?

It's my understanding that deleting your account makes it impossible to view your comment history and essentially makes all comments anonymous. Unless you post lots of personally identifying information in a single comment, there doesn't seem to be a huge benefit to it. Otherwise identifying a user would typically require several different comments containing different bits of identifying information.
