  he National Rifle Association today launched a national campaign aimed at exposing Michael Bloomberg’s anti-freedom agenda. The "Meet the Real Michael Bloomberg" campaign kicks off with a national television advertisement titled "Insult". “Insult" is the first in a series of ads that will expose Bloomberg's hypocrisy, arrogance and desire to tell the American people how to live their lives. "Michael Bloomberg has declared war on the NRA and our five million members. We will not sit back and let him use his billions of dollars to impose his radical anti-freedom agenda on the American people. Our effort will expose Bloomberg as an arrogant hypocrite who thinks he knows best how people should live their lives," said Chris W. Cox, Executive Director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action.

• Court Declares District of Columbia's Ban on Bearing Arms Unconstitutional

  The nation's capitol, long infamous for its strict gun control, is now one step closer to being forced to comply with the Second Amendment. On Saturday, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia issued a decision in Palmer v. District of Columbia, which challenged D.C.'s ban on carrying firearms in public for self-defense. The court's opinion prohibits D.C. officials from enforcing certain provisions of local law that effectively prevent the carrying of firearms in public for self-defense.

• Obama talks tough about gun control, but prosecutions plummet on his watch

  While President Obama presses for more laws to restrict ownership, his Justice Department has prosecuted 25 percent fewer cases referred by the main law enforcement agency charged with reducing firearms violence across the country, a computer analysis of U.S. prosecution data shows. “We have this irony. The Obama administration, which is asking for more in the way of gun regulations — in terms of increased background checks for private sales and at gun shows — is actually prosecuting less of the gun laws already on the books,” said Robert Cottrol, a gun control historian at George Washington University. “For a lot of people, there’s more ideological cache harassing Bubba at the gun show than getting a handle on gun crime.”

• US 11th Circuit Court of Appeals Rules in Favor of the State of Florida and Law Abiding Gun Owners

  The United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit has ruled that doctors do not have the right to ask patients if they own a firearm when unnecessary to a patient's care. This ruling is a significant defeat for the gun control lobby and its allies. The Florida chapters of the American Academies of Pediatrics and American College of Physicians, along with a number of other groups and individuals backed by the anti-gun community, filed this lawsuit against the State of Florida after Governor Rick Scott signed a bill backed by the National Rifle Association in 2011.
