Today marks 15 long years since the events on 9/11.

"When we arrived to play Football in the tournament in South Africa, we met over 20 local groups made up of every color, religion, ethnic community, and socio-economic status. The connection of the youth in a tournament like this not only symbolizes a bright future in South Africa despite its dark past, but is also incredibly inspirational. Our delegation was the only one in the tournament which played with a mixed group of Jews and Muslims, and i...nspired the entire tournament to take a step forward towards playing with the 'other' in one group - that is my proudest moment during the trip!"

Dvir just got back from a trip to South Africa with a mixed group of Muslim and Jewish students, sponsored by Partnership2Gether Beit Shemesh - שותפות ביחד, who participated in global Football tournament against local groups. During the trip, the students received a trophy for being the fairest behaved group - due in no small part to Dvir who serves as a wonderful role model!
Dvir, thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the Center, we appreciate you and are proud to call you our #MCM!
"כשהגענו לשחק בדרום אפריקה פגשנו בטורניר מעל 20 קבוצות מקומיות מכל צבע, דת, קהילה אתנית ומצב סוציו אקונומי. החיבור של הנערים בטורניר שכזה בהווה מסמל עתיד ורוד לעומת העבר החשוך שהיה קיים בדרום אפריקה והתהליך כולו מעורר השראה. עצם היותנו הקבוצה היחידה בטורניר ששיחקה בצורה מעורבת- יהודים ומוסלמים שנתנה לטורניר כולו השראה לעשת צעד נוסף לשחק ביחד עם האחר בקבוצה אחת. זוהי גאוותי הגדולה ביותר!"

משלחת דו קיום - 2016
8 משתתפים במשלחת דו קיום בספורט, 4 יהודים (מתוכם שניים חרדים) 4 מוסלמים. הנערים השתתפו בטורנירי כדור רגל ביוהנסבורג וקייפטאון, שחקו עם קבוצ...ות כדור רגל השייכות למגוון קהילות מקומיות מכל שכבות האוכלוסיה, סיירו במקומות הסטורים, נפגשו עם חברי הקהילה וארגונים שונים, נחשפו לתכניות דו קיום בדרום אפריקה, ביקרו במסגד הכי גדול באפריקה ויצרו קשר חזק עם המשפחות המארחות שלהם. הקבוצה זכתה בגביע הקבוצה ההוגנת על התנהגותה הספורטיבית הבולטת ועל כך שהרשימה כל מי שפגשה בדרכה. המשלחת יצאה מטעם Partnership2Gether Beit Shemesh - שותפות ביחד. Ranin A. Sh אימנה את הבנים בהצלחה והובילה אותם במקצועיות רבה לכל אימון וטורניר.
ברצוננו לאחל יום לימודים ראשון מוצלח למיכל, בתו של צחי שעובד במרכז, שעולה היום לכיתה א' והצלחה רבה ל- 2,232,172 תלמידי בתי הספר שמתחילים היום את שנת הלימודים תשע"ז.
תהיו תלמידים טובים וחברים טובים, לכו תמיד זקופים קדימה וזכרו לחייך!
نتمنى لميخال، بنت تاجي التي تعمل في دار السلام، يوم ناجح في بداية السنة الدراسية. ميخال تبدأ الصف الأول اليوم جنب 158,958 طلاب آخرين! ونتمنى أيضا لجميع الطلاب الذين يذهبون إلى المدرسة اليوم سنة ناجحة ومجزية!...

Just a few months ago we participated in the streetfootballworld Festival 16 in Lyon as part of KickApp Cup, and we had an amazing time!
KickApp Cup, developed by streetfootballworld and SAP 4 Good, is "a global event series that used football to promote tech-based skills in disadvantaged communities."

Eran Zahavi, who was appointed Ambassador for Peace yesterday by Ninth President Peres, wrote a great article (in Hebrew) about his experience. Take a look!
"אתמול הגעתי לטקס במרכז פרס לשלום לקבלת אות שגריר של שלום בסין מטעם ישראל. בשבילי זה היה רגע מאוד מיוחד ומרגש, קודם כל בגלל מי שבחר אותי לתפקיד - מר שמעון פרס. ...מבחינתי הוא מייצג את ארץ ישראל היפה: תמיד מנסה לתרום, לעזור ולפעול למען השלום ולהיות חלק מזה זה אתגר גדול מאוד בשבילי. אני בטוח שאעשה הכל בשביל לתרום כמה שיותר ולייצג את המדינה שלנו בכבוד ולחזק את היחסים שגם ככה טובים עם סין עוד יותר. אני באמת חושב שאנחנו כאנשים שיש להם השפעה חייבים לנסות לעזור לאחר ולנסות לעשות דברים טובים למען הקהילה וליצור עולם טוב יותר. מקווה שאצליח בתפקידי החדש.
היה מאוד נחמד לראות איך ילדים יהודים ופלסטינים משחקים יחד ונהנים מזה. עובדים בשיתוף פעולה למען המטרה. כמובן שהיה גם כיף לשחק איתם ולראות כמה הם מתרגשים לשחק איתי. האמת שבשביל רגעים כאלה אני חי. כיף לי להרגיש שאני נותן הרבה לילדים ומקווה שאמשיך לעשות את זה עוד הרבה שנים."
מרגיש/ה מלא/ת השראה.We were proud to host Eran Zahavi and Chinese Ambassador to Israel Zhan Yongxin at the Peres Center for Peace, where Zahavi played a quick game with young Israelis (Arabs and Jews) and Chinese children and was named an Ambassador for Peace in Sport by Ninth President Shimon Peres שמעון פרס. Zahavi is an Israeli footballer now playing for Gwangju RP in China, and serves as a role model for children and youth around the world to build friendships through the international language of sport.
Professional footballer Eran Zahavi came to the Peres Center for Peace, met with our young Israeli and Palestinian football players, and was appointed an Ambass...ador for Peace in Sport.

Ori Sasson is proof to us all - both large and small - that hard work pays off! Today, at only 26, Sasson joins Yarden Gerbi in victory. Together they honor the State of Israel and will bring home two Olympic medals - a truly outstanding achievement. This achievement will be recorded in history.

...Sada Sha'at, age 16: "I was introduced to the Peres Center with a group of students from my school. We met students from a Jewish school in Gedera for a series of joint activities and workshops. Together we trained, played and mediated in football tournaments for younger kids. I love football because it brings people together and somehow they start to get to know each other."
Maya Amar, age 17: "I joined the Peres Center’s Young Leadership through Sport project two years ago, in which me and my friends from Gedera met with teenagers from Beit Hanina, an Arab neighborhood in Jerusalem, for leadership and sports activities. Eventually, we also led football activities for younger Arab and Jewish kids from our hometowns. I think football changed my life since I joined the Peres Center’s project, because I got to meet amazing friends that I wouldn’t have met otherwise."

I turned 93 this week, and it seemed like just the right age to join Snapchat. Young people inspire me, and the most important thing for me is to hear what they have to say. Today, all the young people are on Snapchat, and I am happy to be on there with them. What does peace mean to you? #people4peace
Every one of us has a different reaction to the concept of Peace. There are those who find the idea of peace problematic, some who are doubtful of its existence, and others who are certain that peace is already here.
The Peres Center for Peace and the Ninth President Shimon Peres are calling you all to photograph your hands clasped together and upload the photo to Instagram along with a couple of words about what peace means to you and the hashtag #people4peace.
In honor of the International Day of Peace coming up next week, we decided to take this opportunity to work towards the most basic and important type of peace - the peace between people. We believe that the power to make a significant and lasting change is in all of our hands, and that peace does not have to be limited to one definition.
The first one to take part in this important gesture is none other than President Peres, who uploaded a post to Instagram calling for all of us to participate in #people4peace and take an an active role in creating peace and strengthening unity among the people.

"When we arrived to play Football in the tournament in South Africa, we met over 20 local groups made up of every color, religion, ethnic community, and socio-economic status. The connection of the youth in a tournament like this not only symbolizes a bright future in South Africa despite its dark past, but is also incredibly inspirational. Our delegation was the only one in the tournament which played with a mixed group of Jews and Muslims, and inspired the entire tournament to take a step forward towards playing with the 'other' in one group - that is my proudest moment during the trip!"

Dvir just got back from a trip to South Africa with a mixed group of Muslim and Jewish students, sponsored by Partnership2Gether Beit Shemesh - שותפות ביחד, who participated in global Football tournament against local groups. During the trip, the students received a trophy for being the fairest behaved group - due in no small part to Dvir who serves as a wonderful role model!
Dvir, thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the Center, we appreciate you and are proud to call you our #MCM!
"כשהגענו לשחק בדרום אפריקה פגשנו בטורניר מעל 20 קבוצות מקומיות מכל צבע, דת, קהילה אתנית ומצב סוציו אקונומי. החיבור של הנערים בטורניר שכזה בהווה מסמל עתיד ורוד לעומת העבר החשוך שהיה קיים בדרום אפריקה והתהליך כולו מעורר השראה. עצם היותנו הקבוצה היחידה בטורניר ששיחקה בצורה מעורבת- יהודים ומוסלמים שנתנה לטורניר כולו השראה לעשת צעד נוסף לשחק ביחד עם האחר בקבוצה אחת. זוהי גאוותי הגדולה ביותר!"
-דביר זיוון, מנהל פרויקט "בתי ספר תאומים לספורט ולשלום" מתייחס לחוויותיו מליווי משלחת נבחרת של נערים יהודים ומוסלמים, שהשתתפה בטורניר כדורגל עולמי מול קבוצות נערים מקומיות. הקבוצה, שיצאה מטעם Partnership2Gether Beit Shemesh - שותפות ביחד, זכתה בגביע הקבוצה ההוגנת על התנהגותה הספורטיבית הבולטת - עם העזרה של דביר ששימש כמודל נפלא!
דביר, תודה על מי שאתה ועל כל מה שאתה עושה בשביל המרכז והנערים בפרויקטים שלנו - אנחנו מעריכים אותך המון וגאים למנות אותך ל-#MCM של השבוע!
"عندما وصلنا لملعب كرة القدم في البطولة في جنوب افريقيا، تعرفنا على اكثر من 20 مجموعات محلية تتكون من كل لون، دين، وضع اجتماعي ووضع اقتصادي. اتصال الشباب في هذه البطولة يرمز لمستقبل جنوب افريقيا على الرغم من الماضي المظلم، ويكون ملهمة لا تصدق. كان فريقنا الوحيد الذي ضمن مجموعة مختلطة من اليهود والمسلمين، والهم الجميع لاتخاذ خطوة إلى الامام نحو اللعب مع "الآخر" في مجموعة واحدة – وهذه اعظم لحظة لي!"
