    what are those traces for? they are RGB wires. i connected this early MDA card up to my NEC MultiSync monitor, and sure enough, it does color!

    most importantly, they removed a bunch of traces going to the video connector.

    the old one also has a light pen connector, J2. IBM removed it on the later card.

    it uses an early 8088 CPU with an interrupt bug. apparently this makes my PC one of the first 200,000 shipped!

    another vague memory: Sketch used a 2-dimensional array of function pointers to perform actions on objects, something like action[LINE][ERASE](object). it compiled to a jump table which was quite fast!

    iirc AutoSketch was replaced in the late 90s when Autodesk acquired Softdesk. they dropped the existing product and renamed a Softdesk product AutoSketch. ohhh, marketing. 🙄
